Finding that dedicated 'you time' isn't selfish; it's essential for our well-being and, honestly, for us to be the best versions of ourselves for our families. My 'Self-Care Thursdays' are a lifesaver, but self-care isn't just about bubble baths or skincare routines, although those are amazing! It’s about anything that recharges your spirit and reminds you that you are enough. For me, sometimes it’s a mental break—just 10 minutes of quiet meditation or listening to my favorite podcast while doing the dishes. Other times, it’s physical, like a quick walk around the block to feel the sun on my face, or making sure I drink enough water throughout the day. It’s about those small, consistent acts of kindness towards yourself. But how do we actually find that time when our days seem long and we've catered to everyone but ourselves? This is where the 'maketime' and 'findtime' hashtags truly come into play. It often means getting creative. Like the reminder says, whether you get up earlier than the house or go to bed later, that's YOU time. I've learned to carve out micro-moments. Maybe it’s sipping my coffee in silence for 15 minutes before anyone else wakes up, or reading a chapter of a book while the kids are playing independently. Don’t underestimate the power of these small pockets of peace. I also try to schedule it in, just like I would a doctor's appointment. It makes it feel non-negotiable.
