Lasagna soup

#lasagnasoup #foodideas #AskLemon8

2025/10/15 Edited to

Lasagna soup is a fantastic twist on the traditional Italian lasagna, turning the classic layered pasta dish into a warm and hearty soup that’s perfect for chilly days. What makes lasagna soup so appealing is its rich tomato base combined with ground meat, pasta, and creamy cheese, delivering all the flavors of lasagna in a single bowl. To prepare lasagna soup, you’ll want to start by simmering a savory tomato broth infused with garlic, onions, and Italian herbs such as oregano and basil. Browned ground beef or Italian sausage adds depth and protein, while broken lasagna noodles cook directly in the broth, absorbing all the delicious flavors. For a creamy touch, dollops of ricotta or shredded mozzarella cheese are added right before serving, creating a luscious texture that mimics the cheesy layers of traditional lasagna. Beyond being delicious, lasagna soup is a flexible recipe that can accommodate various dietary preferences. You can easily substitute ground beef for turkey or even plant-based protein to make it lighter or vegetarian-friendly. If you want to keep it gluten-free, swap the lasagna noodles for gluten-free pasta or zucchini noodles. One of the benefits of lasagna soup is how quickly it can be made, making it ideal for busy weeknights. It can also be prepared in advance and stored in the fridge or freezer for easy reheating. This makes it a convenient option for meal prep without sacrificing taste. When serving lasagna soup, consider adding a sprinkle of fresh parsley or basil for a burst of freshness. Pair it with crusty garlic bread or a simple green salad for a complete meal. Whether you’re an experienced cook or just getting started, lasagna soup is a rewarding dish that combines comfort and ease, inviting you to enjoy all your favorite flavors in every spoonful.
