Things have been so different since my last birthday. I am both sad and proud about my journey and how far i’ve to step into my own. I have fought for my job, my relationship, and my personal well-being.

August ‘24: my family visited me in my new home for the first time 🏡
September ‘24: started therapy at the recommendation of a concerned friend 🩺

December ‘24: went home to visit for the first time since moving states 🌺
January ‘25: found a hobby reading self help books 📖
February ‘25: celebrated babes birthday 🎂
March ‘25: lost my friend to depression ❤️🩹
April ‘25: made doctors appointments to take care of my health 🩻
May ‘25: started anti-depression medication 💊
June ‘25: found interest in content posting on lemon8 🍋
July ‘25: set clear boundaries for my relationship ❤️🔥
August ‘25: planning my first international trip with babe 🚞
I hear people say that 30 is the new 20, and I am beginning to believe it. With the way my relationship is going and how I am taking charge of my life, I feel like I have started a new book — f#&k a chapter, I am redoing so much…
🍰 this year I have really learned to love myself. There were a lot of struggles and asking for help after a loss was so hard. My therapist literally had to book appointments for me and I am so thankful for her. Since then I have taken care of more aspects of my health than i knew I needed help with.
👩🏽❤️💋👨🏼 after ten years of being roommates/really close fwb’s my bf and I finally decided that we needed to either commit to this or break up. we both spoke our truths and how we could not see one without the other and have been learning and growing about each other in a new light. It’s like finally figuring out the secret ingredient.
🗂️ the last three birthdays I spent working. Prior to that I had a personal rule about not working on my day and I think I will have to reinstate that rule permanently because working on a day I want to enjoy myself is a CRIME! but also, make that money besties.
😌 highlight of my birthday was having a great time getting my nails 💅🏽 done with my girl Jerrika, and wandering around thrift stores 🛍️ with my smoothie from Jamba 🥤 and pretzel 🥨. I ended my day with a big balloon 🎈, roses 💐 from my baby and some good tlc 🫶🏽
