"Treat them like family." 9 steps🐾

With the rise of diseases that come with feeding your dog dry pet food, big name brands, such as purina and blue buffalo I took it upon myself to start making my dogs food at home. So I can know exactly what’s in it at all times. No need for extra stress here. (besides the cooking but I don’t mind.)

This is enough for two maybe three days.

I have a 17 pound Shih Tzu and a 60 something pound pity.

I use ground beef, I buy the $9.99 roll and go through that a week! I buy one bag of frozen veggies, and a bag of rice. On top of their daily supplements, It cost roughly $15 to feed them a week.

A bag of kibble would cost somewhere close to 50$ for the month— so it’s a bit cost-effective there too.

My major concern with cooking at home was the protein intake, but as long as your supplementing properly, and you see no changes in their physical health and emotional stamina chances are you’re doing them good🤍

... Read moreMaking homemade dog food can be a rewarding experience for pet owners who want to ensure their dog gets the healthiest meals possible. Many commercial dog foods contain hidden ingredients that can be unhealthy for your pet. By preparing meals at home, you can control the quality of the ingredients, ensuring they’re nutritious and tailored to your dog’s specific needs. To start, focus on using high-quality protein sources such as ground beef, chicken, or turkey. It's essential to balance these with grains like rice or oats and add in vegetables such as carrots or peas for added nutrients. Supplements play a crucial role in homemade diets, as dogs require specific vitamins and minerals to thrive. Consider adding fish oil for omega-3 fatty acids or a comprehensive dog supplement to fill in any nutritional gaps. Additionally, always monitor your dog's health when switching to a homemade diet. Regular vet check-ups will help ensure that your pet is receiving all necessary nutrients and maintaining its weight. Homemade dog food not only saves you money but also deepens the bond between you and your pet by treating them like family with home-cooked meals.

Pleas make sure your consulting with a K9 nutritionist if your wanting to do this as a daily meal and not just a special treat. I was doing something similar for awhile and my vet told me it needs to contain animal organs (like liver or kidney ect) and specific supplements orthey aren’t getting everything they need
