Book Review? Nahhh not for this!

Um… 😐

This book was so underwhelming that I honestly got bored! Which is so rare for me! Lets jump into it.

1. The plot.

-bitch where? The only thing i saw was a threeway that was such a twilight copy it wasnt even funny. Literally just a copy of the twilight movie, but instead of being chased by rival wolves/vampires, shes being chased by a jealous three year old who wants to kill her (not really a 3 year old, but mitchelle is legit a childish bitch) 😐. WAIT IT GETS WOR- I mean better! Lets just randomly enter in Angels and Demons and make this a whole shitshow! OH! I forgot! These fallen angels have a pheromone that makes EVERYONE fall in love with them, EXCEPT FOR THE FMC. Daayyyyum! How original!

2. Characters/Development.

- Again, WHERE?! None. Nowhere. Poof. GONE. NONEXISTENT! Development WHO??

The FMC is a literal ditz, and the MMCs are ANNOYINGLY perfect-

Oh and the fact the author TRIED to enter a shadow daddy OUT OF ABSOLUTELY NOWHERE-

3. Spice??

-uhhh no. This is so YA its not even funny! While im not shitting on YA - as Twilight was YA, but was strangely SUCCESSFUL- this was basically a copy and paste with different characters. Kissing? Mediocre. Romance? You wish. Spice? Im still looking.

4. Final Review:

-basically Twilight meets Supernatural, but is copied and pasted, with a SPRINKLING OF FAIRIES! Yay! This book is like if the Author was trying to shove all her favorite Fantasy books into one and it FLOPPED so hard! What a disappointment. Not even worth 4 stars. 3 atars, only for the laughs i got.

... Read moreIn the realm of YA literature, originality can often become a casualty of trends. The recent book 'Cursed' attempts to blend elements from beloved series like Twilight and Supernatural, yet the result is more of a haphazard mix than a coherent story. With characters that lack depth and plot points that feel overly familiar, readers may find themselves yearning for the intricate character development and engaging storytelling found in successful works of the genre. Readers often cherish unique narratives that breathe new life into fantasy worlds, but when a book relies heavily on clichés and borrowed ideas, it risks alienating its audience. A strong YA novel should not only entice its readers with romance and adventure but should also challenge their imagination and provide fresh perspectives. 'Cursed,' unfortunately, misses the mark on both counts. The trend of recycling themes can dilute readers' excitement, leading to a sense of déjà vu that diminishes their overall reading experience. As readers continue to seek innovative stories that resonate emotionally and intellectually, there's a growing call for authors to embrace creativity rather than rely on the foundation laid by others. 'Cursed' can serve as a reminder that even in the crowded landscape of YA fiction, there is always room for truly original ideas that inspire rather than disappoint.
