meet my loves 🐱🫶
i figured i’d do an introduction on my furbabies, i am currently only a cat momma but that is just until i find the perfect fit puppy for our family.
(i lied we do have 2 goldfish😂)
this is gidget he is my first babe .. he was actually the runt of his litter and is now my second biggest cat. he’s always been a fur ball and he is also polydactyl! (he has extra toes 🐾)
a little more about him:
- he’s 3 years old (4 this year)🎉
- his birthday is on halloween 🎃
- he’s the biggest lover but he also loves to play and get crazy
- he definitely is the “caretaker” of his siblings always cleaning, cuddling, and keeping everyone safe 🥰 (he is also my oldest kitty)
backstory on how i got him:
i was with an ex bf and his garage cat had kittens, right from the start i fell in love with how fluffy gidget was .. it wasn’t until my ex had sent me the photo at the end that i realized his paws were a bit larger.. nonetheless i knew i couldn’t have a kitten as much as i loved him bc where we lived it wasn’t allowed but unbeknownst to me my ex had contacted my mom and she said that it would in fact be okay and brought him over as a surprise/christmas present.. like i mentioned i already had fallen in love with him so this was just the cherry on top and i think his toes are just the cutest thing also!
he truly is one of a kind and i could never trade him for anything in this world (pic at the end of him as just a little babe)
also for size reference im 5’ and he’s over half my size when he’s held straight up!📏
i hope you think he’s just as cute and love him as i do! i’ll post my other babes throughout the week.
Polydactyl cats, like Gidget, are fascinating creatures known for having extra toes— a genetic mutation that is considered rare and often linked to good luck. These extra toes not only give them a distinctive appearance but also can sometimes enhance their climbing and hunting skills. Originating historically from sailors who valued polydactyl cats on ships for their superior abilities, these cats have an interesting cultural background. Gidget’s role as a caretaker among his siblings highlights typical social behavior in multi-cat households, where older or dominant cats take on nurturing roles such as grooming and comforting younger companions. This behavior is essential for feline social bonding and establishes a harmonious environment. Celebrating a cat’s birthday, such as Gidget’s Halloween birthday, is a fun way pet owners strengthen their bond with their pets and can include special treats or toys. For cat moms looking for a future puppy addition to the family, it’s important to consider breed temperament and proper introductions to ensure a peaceful multi-pet home. In addition to cats, keeping aquatic pets like goldfish can provide low-maintenance companions that add diversity to a household’s pet ecosystem. Overall, sharing stories like Gidget’s helps build a supportive community among pet lovers, inspiring others to appreciate the unique qualities of their furry family members while offering practical insights into animal care and companionship.
