Hi everyone! So glad you're here to connect. As you might've seen from my profile, I'm a big fan of my blonde, wavy hair, and I've had quite a journey learning how to care for it! Being a sorority alum, I've picked up a few tricks over the years from my sisters and friends on keeping my locks looking their best, especially with all the events and photo ops! One of the biggest lessons I've learned is the importance of a good purple shampoo. For us blondes, brassiness is a constant battle. I usually reach for a toning shampoo once a week, letting it sit for a few minutes to really neutralize those yellow tones. It makes such a difference in keeping my blonde bright and fresh. I also swear by a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner for my regular washes to keep my waves from getting too dry and frizzy. Hydration is key! When it comes to styling my waves, I try to keep it as natural as possible. After washing, I gently scrunch out the excess water with an old cotton t-shirt instead of a towel – it's much gentler and helps prevent frizz. Then, I apply a lightweight curl cream or mousse to damp hair. I love to let my hair air dry whenever I can, or if I'm in a rush, I'll use a diffuser on low heat. The trick is not to touch it too much while it's drying to let the natural waves form. I've also found that a good deep conditioning treatment once a week really helps with overall hair health. Blonde hair, especially if it's highlighted, can be prone to dryness and breakage, so giving it that extra dose of moisture is crucial. And don't even get me started on heat protectant! If I absolutely have to use heat tools, it's the first thing I apply. Protecting those strands is non-negotiable for me. Beyond products, I try to be mindful of my diet and water intake. Staying hydrated and eating nutrient-rich foods definitely shows in the health and shine of my hair. It's all connected, right? I'm still learning and experimenting with new products and techniques, but these are my tried-and-true methods that have kept my blonde, wavy hair looking vibrant and feeling soft.
