Couponing! Dollar General!

So I tried couponing today with a buget of 35$! And I made it right under my budget! Keep in mind the things I got are in a big pack so I got 6ct paper rolls and 12ct toilet paper etc! I’m going to be trying different stores like cvs and learn more on the way!

WHAT THE HECK the I double asked the lady if my 5$ off on 25$ or more was added and she said yes and completely lied and it was clipped too! I could have only payed 28.68$ 🤦🏽‍♀️

I've been diving into the world of extreme couponing, and let me tell you, Dollar General is often my first stop for incredible deals and discounts on everyday essentials. It’s not just about saving a few cents; it’s about strategically planning your shopping to get the most bang for your buck, turning what seems like a small purchase into significant savings. One of the biggest secrets to mastering Dollar General savings lies in their digital coupons. Seriously, if you're not using the Dollar General app, you're missing out! Before every shopping trip, I make it a point to browse through the available digital coupons and ‘clip’ the ones I know I'll use. These can range from discounts on specific brands of snacks or coffee creamer to larger savings on household items like paper towels, toilet paper, or even pet food. What’s fantastic is that these are often manufacturer coupons, meaning you can sometimes combine them with Dollar General's own store promotions, leading to even deeper price drops. Beyond the digital deals, always keep an eye on their weekly ads. These flyers often highlight fantastic sales on popular items and are crucial for planning your bigger hauls. And speaking of big hauls, the legendary $5 off $25 Saturday coupon is your best friend for maximizing savings. This coupon, usually available in the app, allows you to save an extra $5 when your pre-coupon total reaches $25 or more. Timing your shopping for a Saturday and combining this with other clipped coupons is how you truly unlock those incredible deals. Just make sure to double-check that it applies at checkout! To ensure a smooth couponing experience, I’ve picked up a few practical tips. First, always make a shopping list and match it with your coupons beforehand. Don't just clip everything; focus on items you genuinely need. Second, and this is a lifesaver, use the Dollar General app's barcode scanner *in-store*. This feature lets you scan items as you shop to confirm if a digital coupon applies. This way, you avoid any surprises at the register, like finding out a coupon didn't go through for your toothpaste or plastic cups. Third, understand how coupon stacking works. Generally, you can use one manufacturer coupon (digital or paper) and one Dollar General store coupon per item. Fourth, always be prepared for stock variations. Sometimes shelves might be empty, so having a backup plan or being flexible with brands can save your trip. Finally, and this is a lesson I learned the hard way, always review your receipt before leaving the store. Verify that all your coupons, especially those big ones like the $5 off $25, have been applied correctly. It’s easy for things to get missed, and catching it immediately makes resolution much easier. By following these strategies, you’ll be well on your way to becoming a Dollar General couponing pro. It’s so satisfying to walk out with a cart full of essentials, from instant coffee to a new toy car for the kids, knowing you've saved a significant amount. Happy couponing!
