Is there any Muslim exercising during Ramadan?

#letschat #lemon8contest

If so, what exercising you’re doing and at what times? I’m running at 2 pm because I try to keep my mind occupied so time past faster but seeing my family drinking water while I’m running thirsty is kind of hard, also feel my body lighter while running I catch myself running more that other days.

... Read moreHey everyone! I've been seeing lots of questions about 'Muslim exercising during Ramadan,' and it's a topic I'm really passionate about, even though it comes with its challenges. Like many of you, I've been trying to figure out the best way to stay active while fasting, especially when dealing with that mid-day thirst! One of the biggest dilemmas is deciding when to work out. I used to run around 2 PM, hoping to make the time pass faster, but honestly, pushing through when you're super thirsty is tough. It made me wonder about other options, especially 'workout before suhoor' or 'ramadan workout before iftar'. Working Out Before Suhoor: I've experimented with waking up a bit earlier for a pre-Suhoor session. The upside? You're relatively fresh, haven't started fasting yet, and you can hydrate properly right after. I found a light cardio session or some strength training worked well here. The downside? It really messes with your sleep schedule, especially if you're planning on 'sleeping after suhoor' which might be interrupted. For me, a quick 30-minute session was doable, but anything longer left me feeling drained by mid-day, even after a good Suhoor meal. It's a trade-off between getting your workout in and prioritizing rest. Working Out Before Iftar: This is what many people consider, and it has its merits. If you time it right, you can finish your workout just as it's time to break your fast. This means immediate rehydration and refueling! I often do a more moderate-intensity workout an hour or so before Iftar. The challenge here is managing energy levels. You've been fasting all day, so it's not the time for intense, high-impact exercises. Think brisk walking, light jogging, yoga, or bodyweight exercises. The feeling of pushing through and then immediately breaking your fast is incredibly rewarding, but you have to listen to your body and not overdo it. What about after Iftar? Some prefer to wait an hour or two after Iftar, giving their body time to digest. This is great for higher intensity workouts as you've refueled. However, for me, sometimes the motivation dips after a big meal, and it can get quite late. Hydration and Suhoor are Key! No matter when you choose to exercise, proper hydration during non-fasting hours is non-negotiable. I try to load up on water from Iftar until Suhoor. For 'suhoor', don't skip it! It's your fuel for the day. Opt for complex carbs, protein, and healthy fats to provide sustained energy. Foods like oats, eggs, whole-wheat toast, and fruits are my go-to. The main thing is to listen to your body. Ramadan is about spiritual reflection, and while staying active is important, pushing yourself to exhaustion isn't the goal. I've learned to adjust my expectations and focus on consistency rather than intensity. What are your tips for 'ramadan workout before iftar' or 'workout before suhoor'? Share your experiences!
