The flood situation in many provinces of the South is currently at a critical point. Many people are still trapped inside their homes amid rapidly increasing levels of water. While electricity, water supply and telephone signals in many areas have been completely cut off, many people have been left in darkness, terror and uncertainty without any channels of requests for help, even though the situation is so serious that they cannot allow a minute to pass, so far we have not seen as clear, strong or practical measures by the central government as it should have been.

Although Thailand has a local disaster management structure, the truth is that many areas are facing events that are completely beyond the capacity of local leaders. Allowing localities to deal alone in blackouts, high floods, roads are cut off, and zero communication is to unfairly push people to face their own destiny and is an inevitable failure of the state.

As Prime Minister, he has the direct duty and authority to order systemic, rapid and effective emergency measures, but what the public sees now is simply taking areas that focus on image, photography, flood walking, which has no effect on saving lives for people waiting on rooftops, in schools, and in countless other cut-off areas. This time, no people want publicity, they need emergency evacuation measures that work, and they need it now, not after press conferences, not after repeated assessments in the conference room.

The government needs to announce the most urgent evacuation plan. Immediately establish evacuation routes, brigades and safe places accessible to the public. Ready to deploy boats, rescue vehicles, helicopters and rescue units into all areas cut off without waiting for any requests. Patients, elderly, children, disabled must be systematically conveyed, not left to wait until the high water level reaches the roof, as happens in many areas now.

Most importantly, the government must stop letting people "guess for themselves" what areas are safe or unsafe, must establish a central information system that can be accessed by the public in real time, rising water levels, where roads are cut off, electricity and water supply status, active evacuation routes, and victim transfer points. These data must be updated continuously and announced through all channels, from online media, to local radio, so that everyone can make timely decisions, and to prevent a split-second mistake from being exchanged for the lives of the people.

Thailand has to have a real event command center. There has to be a centralized command from the federal government for all agencies to work as one, not everyone else and let delays become the cause of the coming tragedy before our eyes now.

The people are living to death, and what they receive is silence, delay, and single-handedly holding the local accountable, when this crisis is no longer one to face alone.

Finally, we have a government to run the country in disaster, not push the burden on volunteers.
