People who smile at you in public but speak ill behind your back can drain your energy and trust. From personal experience, I’ve learned that actions often reveal true intentions more than words do. When someone changes their version of truth depending on the place or convenience, it’s a red flag indicating they lack firm loyalty. I used to be too trusting, letting many people in my inner circle, only to find out they didn’t celebrate my achievements or even openly competed with me in silence. That experience taught me the importance of observing how people behave when they don't need you and whether they celebrate your successes or feel uncomfortable around them. It’s not about becoming distrustful of everyone but about protecting your energy wisely. Keeping fewer, sincere friends who are consistent and authentic, rather than many who wear masks, truly contributes to mental peace and growth. I now prioritize friendships where people don't feel the need to put on different faces to fit in and where mutual respect is genuine. Remember, hypocrisy often disguises itself with insincere words and feigned interest, but eventually, true colors show through actions. By staying vigilant and valuing people who are coherent and loyal, you ensure your trust and energy remain in the right hands. This mindset shift has improved not only my personal relationships but also my overall outlook on life.
