Animosity? Nah...
To understand my spiritual path, you will have to understand that your emotional attachments won't take you anywhere if you're scared to let them go. Nothing nor anyone is yours indefinitely. Claiming as such shows your commitment to possessiveness and unwillingness to understand impermanence while trying to disrespect the natural cycle.
If you're still scared of death, no matter what kind, you're nowhere near practicing detachment properly.
You're not forgetting anything or anybody; you're just giving them the opportunity to exist somewhere else without you, and you're giving yourself the ability to go on without others.
You still can honor them by fondly mentioning them in your prayers. Endings are difficult because we bask on the bliss and security of the presence of the well-known. Once we get uprooted, moved, and renewed, it feels scary, foreign, and disturbing. The threshold is not for anyone. The liminals are not easy.
By not being scared of death, it doesn't mean you're inviting death into your life or putting yourself into death's disposal. We all have will to live, and we only want to kill the pain, the despair and the dismay but not ourselves; although the (foul) logic is that we have to end our lives in order to save ourselves from what is plaguing our mind and soul... And it is wrong. The true bravery is to grant ourselves grace in the chaos and give one emotional step at a time. No rush... But also, no delays.

Ultimately, embracing detachment is not an invitation to loneliness; instead, it opens pathways to deeper relationships grounded in authenticity and mutual respect. It provides space for growth, both individually and within relationships, encouraging us to live fully and bravely while honoring the past.
