Hacking Kiddos Christmas Lists

my favorite time of the year 🎅🏼🎄

a few rules i like to follow when shopping for the kiddo:

✨ one “big” thing, usually something that’s a little pricier but is also kind of large. we try to be mindful as we live in a camper full time so it’s usually an outside toy.

✨ a nice outfit and pair of shoes- she usually will pick out what she wants which is so fun for both of us!

✨ a gift from Santa- we try to do something pretty cheap from her wish list or a stuffy.

✨ stocking stuffers (my personal favorite and her’s too)- hit up that dollar section wherever! my little girl loves getting lipgloss, nail polish, nail arts, little pop it’s, kinder eggs, etc. I love the variety of things and she does too!

✨other items-having only one child means our christmas mornings go by pretty quick so i try to get some fun crafts or puzzles to add into the gift selection

One popular approach this season is to focus on a few high-impact gifts that provide lasting joy. A great example would be selecting one significant gift that your child has been dreaming about, which can serve as a centerpiece for their Christmas morning. Incorporate fun experiences into your gifts, such as themed crafts or holiday-themed books like 'If You Give a Mouse a Cookie' by Laura Numeroff, which can cater to young readers and foster a love for reading. Don't overlook the importance of stocking stuffers, which can be lovely surprises! Think about popular options that stay within budget, such as art supplies, puzzles, or themed play items that spark creativity. Wider shopping strategies include utilizing in-store promotions at major retailers like Walmart and Target, ensuring you get the best bang for your buck. Moreover, consider doing a mix of tangible gifts along with cash or gift cards, as they allow kids to make choices down the line. This method keeps the excitement alive long after Christmas day has passed. Set your budget and plan purchases ahead of time to make the most of sales seasons, often available well before the holiday rush becomes overwhelming. With thoughtful preparation, you can ensure a magical Christmas that resonates with both your child's desires and your financial goals.
