I really wanted to improve my skills, so I decided to try out three distinct female body sketching methods that caught my eye. Pinterest is always my go-to for body inspo drawing and finding different 'how to draw female body' tutorials. TikTok, surprisingly, also has some fantastic quick body tut videos that break down complex shapes into manageable steps. Method #1, which was sourced from Pinterest, focused on a more classic approach, aiming for a stylized torso with that elegant hourglass figure. I found this method really emphasized flow and curves. It's great for capturing a graceful pose. My tip for this one? Don't be afraid to use sweeping, light lines initially to find the rhythm of the body before committing to darker strokes. It helps with achieving good proportion in art drawing from the start. Then I moved onto Method #2, which I picked up from a TikTok artist. This one had a much more segmented and angular construction. It felt almost like building the body with geometric shapes first, then smoothing them out.
