things nobody told me about pregnancy

epidural- the epidural days after delivering made my back sore and hurt, even almost 7 days postpartum my back hurts standing for a long period of time or laying down.

placenta- the feeling of the placenta coming out was like a big sploosh.

epidural- I went 5 hours without the epidural and as soon as I got the contractions I was in deep pain and I couldn't stay still. (I soon caved)

*I had a button I pushed to give me the epidural and I clicked it 7 times spaced out and by the time I delivered I couldn't feel my legs or lift myself*

🩷 shout-out to my man for helping me through🩷

*what nobody tells you is that the epidural still takes a second to kick in and even then I still felt some medium contractions*

stitches- I only had a small tear but using the restroom after having stitches is the most painful feeling.

peeing after having a catheter in- I couldn't pee the day of giving birth after taking out the catheter, it took me 4 hours. (weirdest feeling).

help- you will need help after delivering a baby no matter if it's c- section or natural. I tried walking and I couldn't walk, I needed help using the restroom and walking back to bed. ♥️it is okay♥️

everyone is different, just my experience:)

... Read morePregnancy is a journey filled with unexpected twists and turns. One critical aspect many women experience is the impact of an epidural. While it can provide pain relief during labor, many report lingering soreness postpartum. It’s important to understand that the effects of pain management can extend days after delivery, potentially making daily activities challenging. The delivery of the placenta can also be an unexpected moment, often described as an intense feeling. It's crucial to prepare for a range of sensations related to labor beyond contractions. Many women share that despite pain relief methods, they can still feel varying levels of contractions, highlighting the unique experiences each mother faces. Another significant issue is the recovery after childbirth. Whether you have stitches from a tear or experience discomfort from a catheter, these can pose real struggles. Remember, urinating post-catheter can be daunting, with some women taking several hours before they’re able to manage it. Help and support are invaluable during this time. New mothers often find they need assistance, whether they delivered naturally or via C-section. Recovering from childbirth requires nurturing and patience. Remember, everyone’s experience is different; embrace your unique journey and don’t hesitate to seek help when needed to navigate this transformative period.

I have a higher pain tolerance and labored until 7cm at home , had no choice but to natural , and after my first epidural with my first child , none worked . I opted for the gas mask and that was a godsend 😮‍💨 in my opinion , delivering the placenta and the after pains of delivery increases after each child 😭
