see what we got at the farmers market!
this morning we decided to go to the farmers market, even though it was pouring with no signs of stopping. despite the rain, we had a great time and found some pretty good finds.
first, the fruity sourdough bread. we had that for breakfast when we got home, and it was absolutely fabulous. it was delicious and they were only $4 a piece!
next, the strawberries were $6.50 (definitely not cheap), but they came with a GREAT amount and nobody can tell me those don’t look RAVISHING. and let me tell you, they are. strawberries from the garden >>
okay so then, we saw a plant stand and we just had to get something. of course, the succulent we think is the coolest one they have, is poisonous to cats. so the mother of thousands plant is going to have to go somewhere very high so my cat, olive, doesn’t get into it. other than that concern, we are happy with the purchase. she was only $2.50, and i can’t wait to get it thriving!
the honey roasted butter, green beans, and peach were all from the same stand! the peanut butter was $4 and the green beans were $3.50 (what a steal). the man running this booth has peaches in boxes and bags, but sam doesn’t like peaches (weird). so i asked him if he sold them individually at all, and he grabbed one out of a box and said “here just have it!”. what a guy!
finally, i bought a $2 lip scrub! it’s wild cherry and it’s a deep red and smells DIVINE. this was in a jewelry and resin booth with so many beautiful and different things, my wallet was lucky to have just walked out with this!
and that’s the haul! what do you guys normally shop for when you go to farmers markets? i love going to farmers markets because it’s important to support small local businesses, they have absolute STEALS at times, and it’s so much more fun being outside and interacting personally with people, which imo is an experience you don’t often time get in stores!
