$27 jiufen day trip 🌟

Oops super backlogged but back in May 2025 I booked a day trip to Jiufen and Shifen with Klook for $27/pax! I don’t usually go for day trips but this was really worth it as it included two-way transport from taipei main station ~

The tour first took us to shifen village to visit the waterfall and bridge! The weather was rly good and the waterfall was misty and coooling; the only thing was that we only had 30 mins ish here so we had to really zoom to the waterfall and back to the bus!

Afterwards, the tour took us to shifen village where we could explore and release lanterns! We had a bit more time here to explore (1hr-ish) so we took our time writing our wishes on the lanterns and releasing it ~ the price of lanterns was not included in the tour price but iirc it was pretty affordable!

After shifen, the bus took us to jiufen village where we could explore for 2hours-ish! The only thing to note was that we didn’t read the fine print stating that we would have to pay extra (~$1) to board another bus up to the jiufen entrance …

Other than that this tour was really worth it as we didn’t have to figure out our own transport; visited all the tourist sites within one day! Our tour guide Evelyn was also really helpful and good at explaining the places we visited 😆🌟

... Read moreIf you’re considering a day trip to Jiufen and Shifen, here are some tips I found useful from my experience. Firstly, check the fine print about additional fees—like the $1 bus ride up to Jiufen entrance—not included in the tour price. Secondly, bringing some cash for lanterns in Shifen pays off; the prices are affordable and it’s a memorable experience to write wishes and release them. The trip started early at Taipei Main Station, which made the whole day efficient. If you love nature, the Shifen Waterfall is a refreshing stop, but keep in mind the time is limited, so plan your camera snaps accordingly. The best part was not having to worry about transport logistics—everything was arranged including two-way transfers, which made the day stress-free. Also, our tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly, adding a lot of value by sharing stories and facts about each site. For travelers on a budget wanting to see iconic Taiwanese spots in one go, this $27 trip is a steal. Just wear comfortable shoes for walking through Jiufen’s narrow alleys and enjoy sampling local street food if you have time. Overall, a fun, easy, and affordable way to soak in authentic Taiwan vibes!
