Non-Scale Progress Small Yet Big ✨🎀

My scale hasn’t changed but my body has! I put on these cute pink joggers the other day and I felt soooo good! Number one because they are so cute and comfortable to lounge in which makes me happy and number two because I noticed they were a whole lot looser. Here are the small changes my body has made:

🌸 First, I’ve lowered my triglycerides! They are in the normal range and still going down. Make sure you’re getting your blood work done.

🌸 Another thing is I’ve got the string pulled tighter in the photo on the right.

🌸 Next, my waist is coming down more and you can see the full bralette band on my rib cage.

🌸 Lastly, my lower stomach is tightening up so it’s come up a few inches.

🌸 Don’t discredit non-scale victories! They are so important. Honestly, the only reason I talk about losing 30 pounds and use the words weight loss is because I know a lot of us have been conditioned to focus on weight loss and being inspired by it, but I don’t focus on the weight. Getting rid of my diet mentality was the best thing I did.

🌸 I focus on my well-being. I focus on my mindset. I focus on my habits and my routines and the quality of things I’m putting in my mouth.

... Read moreIt's so easy to get caught up in the number on the scale, isn't it? But as I've learned on my own journey, sometimes the most profound and motivating changes happen away from those digits. Beyond the thrill of clothes fitting looser or seeing your waist cinch in, there are so many other incredible non-scale victories (NSVs) to celebrate. Think about how much more energy you have to tackle your day, or how you can now walk further without feeling winded. Maybe your sleep quality has improved, you feel stronger during your workouts, or perhaps your skin looks clearer and healthier. These are all powerful signs that your body is getting healthier and stronger, irrespective of what the scale says. Each one is a testament to your hard work and consistency! So, how do you even keep track of these amazing wins? I've found that keeping a simple journal is a game-changer. Jot down how your clothes feel, your energy levels, your mood shifts, how well you slept, or any personal bests you hit in your fitness routine. Taking progress photos, like the 'then' and 'now' shots (you might have seen in the main post!), can also be incredibly motivating. Sometimes, you don't fully see the changes until you look back at where you started. And yes, getting regular blood work done is a fantastic way to see internal health improvements that no scale can ever measure. Seeing those triglyceride numbers go from a concerning 165 mg/dL to a healthy 147 mg/dL was incredibly validating and a huge NSV for me! For some, a health journey might involve exploring medical support or understanding how different interventions impact their body. It's crucial to work closely with healthcare professionals to understand what's best for your unique body and your personal goals. Whether it's dietary adjustments, a new exercise regimen, or physician-guided treatments, the focus should always be on holistic well-being. It’s not just about managing weight, but about improving overall vitality, reducing health risks, and enhancing your quality of life. Always consult your doctor for personalized advice, especially concerning any medical decisions or interpreting complex lab results. Remember that motivational phrase, 'slow growth is still growth'? It truly resonates with me. Just like the inspiring Hello Kitty graphic, it reminds us that progress isn't always linear or fast, but every small step, every positive change, absolutely counts. Ditching the restrictive 'diet mentality' was a huge shift for me. Instead of focusing on deprivation, I learned to nourish my body, cultivate a positive mindset, and build sustainable habits that support my long-term health. This journey is about self-care, self-love, and celebrating every single victory, big or small, as you move towards a healthier, happier you. You've got this!
