Many years ago, driving a motorcycle, taking my girlfriend to visit Ayutthaya

จากประสบการณ์ส่วนตัวนี้ สิ่งที่ผมเรียนรู้ได้ชัดเจนคือการขับรถบนไหล่ทางนั้นเป็นเรื่องที่ผิดกฎหมายและเสี่ยงต่อการเกิดอุบัติเหตุอย่างมาก แม้ในบางครั้งไหล่ทางจะดูเหมือนเป็นพื้นที่ปลอดภัยหรือน่าใช้สำหรับการขับแซงหรือเลี่ยงรถคันอื่น แต่ตามกฎหมายจราจรในประเทศไทยแล้ว ไหล่ทางนั้นไม่ได้ถูกจัดให้เป็นเส้นทางเดินรถที่ถูกต้อง การขับขี่บนไหล่ทางจึงเสี่ยงที่จะถูกจับและปรับ รวมทั้งยังอาจทำให้เกิดอุบัติเหตุรุนแรงได้ เหตุการณ์ที่ผมประสบนี้ แสดงให้เห็นถึงความไม่คาดคิดขณะขับขี่ เมื่อรถบรรทุกข้างหน้าเลี้ยวเข้าบ่อทรายกะทันหัน ขณะที่ผมขับตามรถคันนั้นโดยใช้ไหล่ทางเป็นเส้นทาง การที่ผมไม่ได้อยู่ในเส้นทางเดินรถปกติทำให้เกิดความสับสนจนตกอยู่ในสถานการณ์อันตราย ซึ่งอาจป้องกันได้หากขับรถอย่างถูกต้องตามเส้นทางกำหนด นอกจากนี้ การจัดการกับเหตุการณ์หลังจากเกิดอุบัติเหตุ เช่นการไปพูดคุยกับเจ้าหน้าที่ตำรวจและเจ้าของรถ เป็นสิ่งสำคัญที่จะช่วยให้การแก้ไขปัญหาดำเนินไปได้อย่างราบรื่นและไม่บานปลาย การมีทัศนคติที่ดี ไม่โวยวายหรือเรียกร้องมากเกินไปก็เป็นประโยชน์ต่องานนี้ และเป็นตัวอย่างที่ดีในการจัดการปัญหาอย่างตรงไปตรงมา สุดท้ายผมอยากเน้นย้ำกับทุกคนที่ใช้รถใช้ถนนว่า อย่าขับรถบนไหล่ทาง เพราะเป็นการกระทำที่ผิดกฎหมายและเสี่ยงต่อการเกิดอุบัติเหตุ หากเราปฏิบัติตามกฎอย่างเคร่งครัด การขับขี่จะมีความปลอดภัยมากยิ่งขึ้น และหลีกเลี่ยงปัญหาทางกฎหมายที่จะตามมาในภายหลังครับ
