Both figures are so incredibly recognizable and have such distinct, almost legendary, presences in their respective fields. I thought, 'What if I could merge these two worlds into something totally unexpected?' My vision was to capture the enigmatic smile of the Mona Lisa but overlay it with the unique, expressive, and heavily tattooed aesthetic of Post Malone. It wasn't just about sticking his face onto the painting; it was about imagining what the Mona Lisa would look like if she existed in Post Malone's universe, or if he himself embodied her timeless allure. I wanted to pay homage to both, creating something that felt both familiar and completely fresh. The process itself was a journey! I started with sketching out different concepts, trying to get the right balance. Should it be a literal face swap? Or a more interpretive piece? I eventually settled on a digital painting approach, allowing me to blend elements seamlessly. Getting the lighting right, those subtle shadows that make Mona Lisa's smile so famous, while incorporating Posty's facial tattoos and signature style, was a real challenge.
