Cafe Review: Cafe Blue
Hope everyone’s been doing well. It’s fall in my part of the world and for me that means cafe season. I recently stopped by Cafe Blue in Buford, Georgia near the Mall of Georgia after a change in plans and was pleasantly surprised.
It’s a small establishment, but perfectly comfortable to read a book or get some work done. They specialize in Blue Mountain, Columbian and Ethiopian coffee blends. They also serve various pastries and teas. I ended up having the blueberry hibiscus tea with honey and an almond pastry. The tea was refreshing and the pastry delicious and best of all the price was right.
Definitely worth the stop.

While my first visit to Cafe Blue in Buford, Georgia, centered around their delightful blueberry hibiscus tea and an almond pastry, I've since found myself thinking about all the other treasures this Metro-Atlanta cafe has to offer. It truly is a hidden gem near the bustling Mall of Georgia, perfect for anyone seeking a serene escape or a productive workspace. One of the standout features I've come to appreciate is the inviting atmosphere. The original article mentioned it's a small establishment, but it’s designed so thoughtfully. There are cozy nooks perfect for diving into a good book, and well-lit tables that make it ideal for getting some work done. I noticed several patrons quietly typing away on their laptops, and the gentle hum of conversation and soft background music created a focused yet relaxing environment – a stark contrast to some louder coffee shops. They truly cater to both the solo visitor looking for peace and quiet, and those catching up with a friend. And speaking of coffee, even though I opted for tea on my first visit, the aroma alone was enough to entice me. Cafe Blue proudly specializes in Blue Mountain, Columbian, and Ethiopian coffee blends. For fellow coffee enthusiasts, you’ll know that Blue Mountain coffee is renowned for its mild flavor and lack of bitterness, making it one of the most sought-after and premium coffees in the world. Knowing they offer such high-quality, distinct blends really elevates their menu beyond your average coffee shop. I've heard rave reviews from friends who've tried their pour-overs and espresso drinks, praising the rich, nuanced flavors. It’s definitely on my list for my next visit! Beyond coffee and tea, their pastry selection is surprisingly diverse for a smaller spot. While my almond pastry was flaky and delicious, I spotted a range of other tempting treats in their display case – from croissants and muffins to what looked like decadent cakes and cookies. They seem to have something to satisfy every sweet tooth, making it a perfect spot for an afternoon pick-me-up or a light breakfast. I'd also recommend checking with the staff about any daily specials or seasonal offerings, as many local cafes rotate their baked goods. The staff at Cafe Blue are incredibly welcoming, adding to the overall pleasant experience. They’re knowledgeable about their blends and happy to offer recommendations, making you feel right at home. The 'price was right' sentiment from the original review holds true; you get high-quality items without breaking the bank, which is always a bonus. For anyone planning a visit, finding parking is usually easy in the area, especially if you're combining your trip with a visit to the nearby Mall of Georgia. Whether you’re a local or just passing through Buford, this Metro-Atlanta cafe is a delightful discovery. It's more than just a place to grab a drink; it's a community hub where quality, comfort, and friendly service blend seamlessly. It comes highly recommended whether you're craving a rich coffee, a soothing tea, or a delicious pastry in a wonderfully relaxed setting.
