let’s talk CHARCUTERIE BOARDS

you see them you love them you absolutely HAVE to make them.

sometimes it’s difficult when you make your first board. where do you put the crackers? What cheese pairs well? What can you pick? pepperoni? or should it be salami? and where the hell do you put the fruit?

Don’t freak out because I promise it’s the easiest thing you’re ever going to do

Hi, I’m Britney and I’m your PTO mom

Whenever you first make a charcuterie board you want to pick a board that is size appropriate for you don’t overwhelm yourself and grab a huge cutting board and worry about how to fill the space. start small with just a regular cutting board or even a pretty dinner plate!

Next, do you wanna get a list together of all the foods you wanna have on your board. Here’s an example of my list; assortment of crackers, sliced cheese trays, cubed cheese, choice of meat, such as pepperoni and salami in this video, fruit of your choice, for each fruit you pick pair three vegetables to go with it. For example, my fruit was grapes so my vegetables were broccoli, baby tomatoes, and carrots.

It’s always important to add color into your boards. You don’t want it to just be crackers and meat. Add some tomatoes and green grapes for pops of color.

In small spaces, you can grab a container of mixed nuts, this adds a small finger food for those who may not be comfortable enough to make themselves a full finger food, but may stand there and snack on a couple cashews. (always check for allergies for your guest)

charcuterie boards are a great and inexpensive way to bring organization and cheer into any occasion you attend .

this ENTIRE spread cost me $114, everything included 🫶🏼

... Read moreHey everyone! So glad you're diving into the wonderful world of charcuterie boards. My friend Britney gave some fantastic basic tips on HOW TO MAKE charcuterie boards without the stress, and I wanted to add a few more insights to help you create truly unique and memorable spreads. Beyond the classic meat and cheese, have you ever thought about exploring different types of charcuterie board ideas? This is where the fun really begins! For instance, a themed charcuterie board can totally elevate your gathering. Imagine a 'Breakfast in Bed' board with mini pancakes, fresh berries, bacon, and small pastries. Or a 'Dessert Dream' board featuring chocolates, macarons, fruit tarts, and yummy dips. For holidays, a 'Festive Fall' board with pumpkin spice dips, apple slices, caramel, and spiced nuts is always a hit! These aren't just for parties; a smaller version can be a delightful treat for yourself or a cozy night in. When it comes to charcuterie board options and items that highlight your creativity, don't limit yourself to just pepperoni and salami. Think about adding a variety of textures and flavors. For cheeses, beyond cheddar and Swiss, try a creamy brie, a sharp blue, or a crumbly goat cheese. For meats, prosciutto, soppressata, and even smoked salmon can add a gourmet touch. And for those 'filler' items that make the board look abundant and appealing – think about marinated artichoke hearts, cornichons, gourmet olives, various jams (fig jam is a personal favorite!), honey, and small bowls of savory spreads like hummus or tapenade. These additions really transform your board from simple to spectacular. Let's talk about charcuterie board designs and layout. Britney mentioned adding color, which is crucial! But how do you make it look professionally arranged? I've found a few tricks. First, always place your larger items (cheeses, small bowls) first to anchor your board. Then, weave your meats around them. Try folding salami or prosciutto into roses or ribbons for an elegant touch. Next, fill in the gaps with crackers, fruits, and vegetables. Don't be afraid to pile things up slightly – abundance looks inviting! Use small bowls for dips, olives, or nuts to add height and structure. And remember, odd numbers often look more aesthetically pleasing than even numbers, so aim for groups of three or five for smaller items. For cheese board arrangement ideas, consider grouping cheeses by type (soft, hard, semi-hard) and placing accompaniments that pair well nearby. For example, grapes and honey near brie, or spicy mustard near a robust cheddar. Finally, for snack board ideas for adults, you can get a bit more sophisticated. Think about adding artisanal crackers, gourmet chocolates, unique dried fruits like mango or kiwi, and even small shot glasses with a complementary beverage pairing, like a port with blue cheese or a sparkling wine with a fruit-heavy board. It's all about experimenting and finding what you and your guests love! Remember, the goal is to create a visually appealing and delicious spread that invites everyone to gather and enjoy. Happy board-making!
