why should you do a photoshoot?
i am so self conscious and although these aren’t the best or when I felt my best, I still appreciate the fact that THIS IS ME! these were both a while ago and I have changed a lot since these! in a good way! can’t wait for my next one! the summer is almost over, just do it!

It's incredible how a photoshoot can transform the way you see yourself. When I first considered getting my pictures taken, I was so self-conscious, just like many of you might be. But taking that leap was one of the best decisions I made for my self-love journey. It's not just about getting pretty pictures; it's about celebrating who you are, right now, in this moment. One of the biggest 'benefits of taking photos' is creating lasting memories. Think about it: these aren't just snapshots from your phone. A professional or semi-professional photoshoot captures a specific time in your life with a certain artistry. Looking back at photos from even a year ago, I realize 'i have changed... so much...' and it's a beautiful way to document that personal evolution. It makes you appreciate your journey and gives you something tangible to hold onto. Worried about the cost? I totally get it! You might be surprised to hear that 'both of my photoshoots were free!' There are often opportunities to work with emerging photographers or students who are building their portfolios. Look for 'Time For Prints' (TFP) groups online or local photography schools. You offer your time as a model, and in return, you get amazing shots. Sometimes, a friend with a good camera and an eye for detail can create magic too. Don't let perceived cost hold you back from exploring this incredible experience. When planning your own shoot, think about the vibe you want. Do you envision a classic 'photo studio setup' with a crisp 'white backdrop' and professional 'lighting equipment'? Or perhaps something moodier with a 'gray background' or a vibrant 'pink background'? Even simple props like a 'wooden stool' or 'black bar stool' can add character to your poses. For outfits, consider what makes you feel confident. I found a 'dark off-the-shoulder top' and 'ripped jeans' worked perfectly for one shoot, while for another, a 'black long-sleeved dress' felt just right. The key is to choose clothes that reflect your personality and make you comfortable. And here's the most important tip, especially if you're feeling nervous: 'just do it! you're beautiful!' Seriously. The photographer's job is to make you look good, and a good one will guide you through poses and help you relax. Don't worry about being perfect; embrace your authentic self. These photos are for you, to remind you of your strength, your beauty, and your unique story. You'll be amazed at how much your confidence can grow after seeing yourself through a new lens. I'm already thinking, 'and need to do another one soon!' because the feeling of empowerment is truly addictive.
