Gain vs Volume: How to Adapt to Sound "Sharp" and Cherish Speakers!
🎸 Gain vs Volume: How to adjust to sound "sharp" and preserve the speaker! @
Many musicians have encountered the problem of "swelling" or "blurring" so that they can't listen to each other in the rehearsal room, most often due to unbalanced Gain and Volume adjustments. Today, let's understand the simple difference so that your band sounds as good as a pro!
🔍 Differences to know
Gain: This is the adjustment of the strength of the signal that "enters" the amplifier. It determines the "sound" to be clean or broken.
Volume (destination): is to adjust the loudness that "leaves" to the speaker, without changing the nature of the sound texture adapted from Gain.
🔥 3 steps, adjust to sound "sharp," do not swell.
Gain: Start by lowering the Volume and slowly accelerating Gain to the desired sound texture (Caution: Do not freeze the red light or the word Clip, because that is where the sound will start to swell and cause the speaker to collapse).
Find loudness with Volume: Once you get a satisfied texture, speed up Volume to get the desired loudness for rehearsals.
The secret formula "Little Gain, Very Volume": If you feel that the sound is blurry or difficult to listen to, try "Reduce Gain and add Volume instead." This will make the music more clear and clear.
💡 Why this serious?
The sound does not strike: when each sound is sharp, everyone hears the details of each other, not racing to speed up the volume.
Preservation: Leaving Gain so high that the "Peak" signal at all times sends distorted sound waves to destroy the speaker's voice coil.
Rehearsals quickly: When you hear yourself and your friends clearly, the rehearsals will be more accurate and end the task more quickly.
"Clear voice is the heart of the professional." The next time you practice at our store, try to apply this technique and ensure that the practice is fun and sounds better!
