Did I do it??😭😭#xyzbca #fyp #relatable
Hey everyone! You know how much I love trying out viral beauty trends, and the Whoville Nose has been absolutely everywhere on my feed lately! From TikTok to Instagram, it seems like everyone is trying to transform their nose into that iconic, cartoonish button from Whoville. Well, I finally decided to give it a go myself, and let me tell you, it was quite an adventure. For those who might not be familiar, the Whoville Nose trend is all about using makeup contour and highlight to create the illusion of a small, upturned nose, much like the characters from Dr. Seuss's Whoville. It's a playful, exaggerated look that's super popular, especially around the holidays or for themed parties. My main motivation for trying the whoville nose trend as a blk girl was to see how it would translate on my features and skin tone. I always wonder if certain makeup trends, especially those relying heavily on strong contour and highlight, will work seamlessly for deeper complexions. Here’s a quick rundown of how I attempted to create my Whoville nose. First, I prepped my skin with a hydrating primer and applied my usual foundation. The magic really started with the contour. I used a cream contour stick that was about two shades darker than my skin. The key is to draw two lines from the inner corner of your brows, going down the sides of your nose, but stopping about halfway. Then, I drew a small, curved line underneath what would be the tip of my nose, connecting it slightly to the side lines. This is supposed to create that upward-turned illusion. For us, making sure the contour shade isn't too cool-toned or muddy is super important so it blends seamlessly without looking grey. Next came the highlight. I used a bright, but not stark white, liquid highlighter. I applied a tiny dot right on the very tip of my nose, a thin line down the bridge, and then a small arch just above the contour line at the tip. This is what really gives it that cartoonish, dimensional pop. It was crucial to pick a highlight that truly stood out against my skin without looking chalky or overly glittery. The right balance makes all the difference. Blending was the make-or-break step. I used a small, dense brush and a beauty sponge to meticulously blend out all the harsh lines. The goal was to keep the defined shape of the contour and highlight but make it look soft and seamless. It took a bit of patience, I'm not going to lie! After that, I set everything with a translucent powder to ensure it stayed put. I found that a light dusting of powder was enough; too much can sometimes dull the highlight or make the contour look heavy. My honest thoughts on the whoville nose trend? It's definitely a fun, experimental look! I think I managed to get the general idea, and it certainly made my nose look different. For other Black girls thinking about trying this, my biggest tip is to play around with your contour and highlight shades. Don't be afraid to experiment with warmer undertones for your contour to avoid any ashy appearance, and choose a highlight that truly pops on your specific skin tone. It’s all about finding what works for your unique features. Did I nail it? You tell me in the comments! I’d love to know what you think and if you have any tips for perfecting this trend!
