🎯. The focus of the lesson.

Christian life is not measured only by knowing "what can be done" or "what cannot be done," but God calls us to ask:

"Do the things we do glorify Him?"

Paul taught that while something is not wrong in itself, if it stumbles or destroys the faith of a brother, we should give up our rights in love, because love is more valuable than the exercise of our own freedom.

1. Knowledge and love

📖 1 Corinthians 8: 1-3

"" Knowledge makes you arrogant, but love makes you prosper. ""

Meaning

The church of Corinth has a debate over food that used to offer idols.

Some people have the knowledge that

- Idolatry has no power.

- There is only one true God.

So they saw that it could be eaten.

But Paul warned that

Knowledge without love can become a weapon against the minds of others.

Mild-faith Christians may be mistaken and reassociated with idolatry.

So...

God values saving the faith of his brothers more than proving that he "knows more."

Lesson

- Knowledge should lead to humility.

- Love should determine freedom.

- Spiritual adults should protect the weaker.

2. Unselfish love

📖 1 Corinthians 9: 19-23

"I have become a servant of all, to save many."

Meaning

Paul had several rights.

- Right to pay.

- Right to custody.

- The right to exercise freedom.

But he gave up those rights if it would help more people come to Christ.

This is the heart of the gospel.

Love is selfless for others.

Like Jesus.

He gave up his glory, gave up his throne, and died to save man.

3. Do not join with sin

📖 1 Corinthians 10: 14-22

Paul exhorts believers to escape idolatry

Because worship is a matter of loyalty.

No one can serve Christ, and yet live a concurrent bond with false worship.

Christians must clearly choose that.

Only God is the One we will serve.

4. Commandment of love

📖 Deuteronomy 6: 4-5.

📖 Mark 12: 28-31

Jesus outlined two whole commandments.

- Love God with all your heart and soul.

- Love your neighbor as yourself.

When these two loves occupy life,

Every decision will change.

We won't just ask that.

"Can you do it?"

But will ask

- Does this honor God?

- Does this help others get close to Christ?

- Does this reflect the character of Jesus?

5. All things glorify God.

📖 1 Corinthians 10: 31

Paul gave a common example.

Even eating and drinking.

It can honor God.

Because God doesn't look only at the time we're in church.

But he looked at life

- Speech

- Thought.

- Working

- Use of money.

- Using time.

- Dining.

- Dress code

- Use of online media

- Treatment of the family

- Serving others

All aspects of life should reflect the glory of Christ.

Ask yourself every day that

- What I'm doing glorifies God?

- My decisions build faith in others or stumble them.

- I use my freedom to serve myself or to serve others.

- Is Christ's love really the motive of my life?

❤️ Conclusion

God does not call us to be just those who "know the Scriptures."

But he called to be one who "lives according to the Scriptures."

True knowledge must give rise to love.

True love must be ready to sacrifice.

And the life offered to God will reflect his glory in every act.

When we love God with all our heart, and love our neighbor as ourselves, our whole life becomes living worship, and everything we do glorifies God.
