One of the highlights of spring gardening is noticing the small changes daily—the subtle greening of leaves, the emergence of tiny buds, and the occasional visit from birds and pollinators, all contributing to a lively ecosystem. Gardening also encourages me to be more mindful and present. Whether I’m planting seeds, watering plants, or simply observing, it feels like a meditative practice that connects me to the earth. I often find myself experimenting with different types of plants to see which thrive best under local conditions. It’s fulfilling to discover that with some attention and love, even simple garden spaces can flourish. As spring seems to be just around the corner I can’t help but get excited about a garden. We have a small flower bed next to our sidewalk & I had several flower pots & a hanging basket last year. This year I would love to add a variety of different flowers as well as some herbs & such.
