Check out the states I’ve been to! 🇺🇸

Embarking on a journey to visit all 50 states is truly a dream for many, and it's exhilarating to realize I've already explored 20 diverse US states across the country! What started as childhood road trips has blossomed into a full-fledged, intentional travel goal. It's funny how you sometimes look back and discover you've achieved so much more than you initially thought. When I recently sat down to map it all out, highlighting each state I've set foot in, I was genuinely surprised by the progress. My personal map shows a vibrant coverage, with 40% of the US now explored! Of all the amazing places I've seen so far, two states hold a special place in my heart, marked with metaphorical pink hearts on my travel map: Texas and Illinois. Texas, with its vast landscapes, rich history, and incredibly friendly people, offers everything from bustling cities like Austin and Houston to the serene beauty of its deserts and coastlines. There's a unique energy there that always draws me back. Then there's Illinois, which I adore for its dynamic urban experiences in Chicago, combined with charming small towns and beautiful natural parks. Both offer a perfect blend of culture, adventure, and delicious food that makes them stand out as my absolute favorites. For anyone else dreaming of ticking off all 50 states, or even just exploring more of our incredible country, here are a few tips I've learned along my journey. First, don't feel pressured to do it all at once. This is a slow-burn travel goal for me, and that's perfectly okay. Enjoy the process! My journey began with family trips when I was little, and now as an adult, I'm deliberately chipping away at the remaining states. Second, tracking your progress can be incredibly motivating. Seeing those 20 states highlighted on my map, and knowing I’m 40% of the way to my goal, makes every new state feel like a huge accomplishment. There are many apps and physical maps available to help you visualize your adventure. Third, be open to exploring different regions. My visits to these 20 states have shown me just how much variety the US offers – from the mountains to the beaches, and everything in between. Each state has its own unique charm and hidden gems waiting to be discovered. Finally, remember that travel doesn't have to break the bank. Road tripping is an excellent way to see multiple states on a budget, allowing you to experience the journey as much as the destination. Look for national parks, state parks, and free attractions to keep costs down. This challenge is about the experience and the memories you make along the way.
