So as you all know I work on cruise ships as a singer and dancer. I’m gone for months on end right? So it’s hard being awake from my family it’s friends, unless I know they’re free to take a vacation. My mom first cruised with me when I performed for Celebrity Cruises but had never seen what I did with Carnival. And let me tell you, it’s day and night difference with the shows. So of course I payed her airfare and cruise ticket for her to see me and the amazing shows!
When she came onboard, I signed us up for everything! A full bridge tour where she met the captain, a fun Skagway Alaska excursion where we were on a speed boat, glacier education and of course hikes! We had the best time. But the best part of it all was showing her what I do for my job and having her be proud of me. As a kid I would always say I want to perform for the rest of my life…even went as far as saying “I WANT TO BE THE NEXT BEYONCÉ!!” (Hopefully in time 😂) but having her see me reach my goals and actually do what I said I would do is just lovely! I’m so thankful for the life I have, the family I have and the amazing life moments I have. And I’m sure more is to come!
... Read moreIt’s amazing how much interest there's been in my life on the cruise ship, especially my mom’s recent visit! I’ve had so many questions about what it’s really like to perform on a ship, her perspective, and of course, our incredible adventures in Alaska. So, let me spill some more details!
First off, about the shows and what it’s like performing. When I mentioned the 'day and night difference' between Celebrity and Carnival shows, I wasn't kidding! Carnival's productions are often high-energy, vibrant, and incredibly interactive. As a singer and dancer, my days are packed with rehearsals, costume fittings, and then giving it my all during multiple shows each night. It's not just about hitting the notes or the steps; it's about connecting with the audience and bringing joy to their vacation. The sheer scale of the productions, with elaborate sets and stunning choreography, is something I pour my heart into. It’s physically demanding but so rewarding, especially knowing people are seeking out content like 'dklink24 videos' to see what we do!
And my mom's perspective? Oh, it was everything! Seeing her in the audience, cheering me on, was truly a moment I'll never forget. She told me how proud she was, and that feeling is just irreplaceable. As a kid, dreaming of being the 'next Beyoncé,' having her witness me living out that passion was so validating. We spent so much time together, from bridge tours where she met the captain, all the way to quiet moments just chatting in the ornate elevator. It wasn't just about showing her my job; it was about sharing my entire 'cruiselife' experience with her, seeing it through her eyes, and feeling that deep connection. Her 'mom's POV' made the whole trip even more meaningful, reinforcing why I love what I do.
Now, for the highlight of our adventure: Skagway, Alaska! This place is absolutely breathtaking. Our excursion was straight out of a postcard. We geared up in bright orange survival suits – definitely a sight to behold – before hopping on a speedboat. Zipping across the calm water with majestic mountains towering around us was exhilarating. We had a fantastic glacier education session, learning about the stunning natural formations. Imagine seeing a vibrant blue iceberg floating serenely, or getting up close to a massive glacier nestled between towering, snow-capped mountains. The beauty is just overwhelming.
But that wasn't all! We also embarked on an incredible hiking adventure. Walking along a rocky riverbed, surrounded by a rocky, forested mountainside, we eventually reached a powerful waterfall cascading down. Standing on the rocky shore with the roar of the water and the crisp Alaskan air was invigorating. Every turn offered another scenic landscape, a new wonder to take in. Skagway truly offers an unparalleled blend of natural beauty and thrilling activities, and sharing those moments with my mom made them even more special. It's a memory we'll both cherish forever.
Aw ur mom and u r so cute together I love that so much!🥺❤️
