Sydney Storm Tips 🌩

If you're thinking about visiting or are new to Sydney (or just got caught out by tonights severe weather warnings), here are some quick tips:

• Check the Beaure of Meteorology, not just your phone app bom.gov.au

• Always carry a brolly or poncho. Yes, even in sunshine (big changes happen quickly)

• Avoid standing under or parking your car near Gum trees (they're called 'widow makers' for good reason)

• Don’t drive through floodwater. That “puddle” might be a trap & you dont want to end up on the news when SES has to come rescue you 🙀

• Protect yourself & your car from hail. Our hail can be the size of your hand, keeping a hail blanket in your car can come in handy.

• Storms are sensory chaos. Hydrate, rest, and cancel plans if needed. (Our transport system can have major delays in severe weather, so plan ahead if possible)

• Pets panic too. White noise, sensory socks to reduce noise, cuddles, and closed blinds help.

• Power outs are rare here, but they can happen. Torch, snacks, and backup charger = peace.
