can a relationship be put on hold?🤕

🧍🏻‍♀️ forgot to mention previously that during my entire timeline of my first rs, we actually took a break bfr ACTUALLY breaking up..

💔 for starters let's rewind bk to : how my ex was like and what i did post breakup to heal

in the midst of all these posts i totally forgot the most important part ; which was taking a break in our rs

🤕 it was p simple, he brought it up that he "didn't want to do this anymore" + "i want to be with you too but i just can't" and me being me (and this being my first ever rs), i asked for a 2nd chance (ok cue face palm can) for a whole night, and he agreed to it.

⏰ and how long did this last for?☺️ 1½ mths☺️ he agreed (i wld say rather reluctantly) since i've been bugging him the whole night on the night of the breakup, and we continued texting alm everyday but ofc WAY lesser. i was alw desperate for his attention (kms rn) and i was continuously pouring emotion even tho literally during that time a day ago he told me he didn't want to be w me anm💀💀💀 (strongly do not recommend)

😔 he kept being busy w ns stuff so he barely replied n i still kept being the same person bc at the time i was scared that if i didn't text him he'd forget abt me🧍🏻‍♀️

🚶🏻‍♀️ ffwd to literally jan 1 this yr in the ams (iirc 5am?) he sent me a LONG a$$ msg and told me that we j won't work out (i hv no ss of this my biggest apologies..) and thats how he ruined my entire start of the year!!🤗 i spent a rly long time trying to process and get over this bc it IS my first rs anw😥

🙏🏻 my conclusion is a break DID NOT save MY rs. yes i did regret constantly texting him and kept thinking of how maybe if i didn't constantly bother him everyday it wldve been diff? i j kept thinking abt tht n how thr wldve been a btr chance of us reuniting,, bt ig i'm destined fr btr🤷🏻‍♀️ ik of certain scenarios whr a break saved someones rs so j be mindful that every rs works differently! what works on other ppls rs might not necessarily work for urs! alw think in ur own shoes, hv ur own opinions and do things fr the btr fr URSELF and urself only💋

... Read moreTaking a break in a relationship can feel like walking a tightrope—you hope it gives you space to breathe and reassess, but often, it leads to even more confusion. From my personal experience, putting my first relationship on hold wasn’t the magical fix I hoped for. The phrase “do breaks save or destroy a relationship?” really resonated with me because I was living it. During our break, I noticed how the communication gradually shifted from frequent texting to distant replies, and my anxiety grew with each unanswered message. I constantly worried that if I didn’t keep reaching out, he might forget me. This emotional vulnerability made me realize how important self-respect and boundaries are, especially during uncertain times. What I found useful after reflecting on this experience is that every relationship is unique. Some couples find that a break provides the clarity and emotional reset needed to reconnect stronger, while others, like me, discover that it only delays the inevitable without helping to address underlying issues. If you’re considering a break, here are a few things I recommend based on my journey: First, set clear expectations together about what the break means—are you seeing other people? How often will you communicate? Without this clarity, it’s easy to misinterpret silence or changes in behavior. Second, use the time to work on your own growth, not just to wait around hoping things will get better. Focus on hobbies, friendships, or personal goals that make you feel empowered. When you take care of your self-worth, you’re better prepared to make decisions that truly serve you. Lastly, listen to your intuition. If something doesn’t feel right or you realize you’re the only one fighting for the relationship, it’s okay to move on. My break taught me that sometimes, the best decision is to prioritize your own happiness and well-being over trying to save something that may not be meant to last. Remember, a break can be a tool—not a guarantee. Reflect on your own feelings and needs and don’t be afraid to seek support from friends or professionals if you need it. Relationships are complicated, but your journey through them should always respect and uplift who you are.

Feel like a break often is just to buy time to hope for the “pain” to subside haha. Sorry to hear about the break up. Take the time to grieve but also find the strength to move on!! The future is still a long road ahead, better things will come
