The truth is, the Hawkins, Indiana we know and love from the show is a fictional town. However, that doesn't mean you can't experience its magic in real life! My recent trip proved just that. While the setting might be fictional, the incredible creators of Stranger Things brought it to life using various filming locations, primarily around Georgia. So, when the original post mentioned "Jackson, GA," it immediately clicked for me! Many fans, like myself, flock to these real-world spots that double as our favorite 80s town. It's truly amazing how they transform these everyday places into the eerie and nostalgic backdrop of the Upside Down. Visiting these sites is like stepping onto a giant movie set. I saw so many iconic spots! For instance, the majestic building that serves as the Hawkins Library in the show – you know, where Nancy did some of her sleuthing – is actually a real public library in Georgia. Seeing the 'PUBLIC LIBRARY' sign in person just gave me chills! And imagine standing next to a vintage beige and brown truck, instantly recognizable as Hopper's Truck, complete with the 'HAWKINS POLICE DEPT.' label. It felt like Chief Hopper himself might walk out at any moment. The attention to detail is just incredible, making you feel completely immersed in the Stranger Things town. I also got to see the alleyway that looked exactly like the one used for the intense Steve & Jonathan fight scene! It’s wild how a seemingly ordinary alley can evoke such specific memories from the series. And yes, I even visited a serene cemetery that pays tribute to Billy's Grave. It’s moments like these that make you appreciate the artistry behind the show, even in its more somber scenes. Of course, no trip to 'Hawkins' would be complete without a nod to some of the quirkier spots. I found a building that perfectly resembled the Hawkins Movie Theater, complete with a vintage 'TAVERN' sign similar to what you'd see in the show. And you know the iconic Surfer Boy Pizza Truck? I saw a replica, complete with a skeleton inside – a fun nod to Argyle's adventures! These experiences really bring the Hawkins Indiana setting to life, allowing you to walk through the scenes you've watched countless times. So, while the Hawkins Indiana fictional town doesn't exist on a map, the spirit of it absolutely does through these fantastic experiences and filming locations. If you're a true fan, seeking out these spots makes you feel closer to the world of Eleven, Mike, Dustin, and the whole gang. It’s definitely an experience worth your time, making you feel like you’ve truly visited the Stranger Things Hawkins Indiana town.
