Things I wish I did as a 1st year teacher 🍎

These top two would have been game changers for me as a new teacher coming in. I found over the years this has saved me from over working myself, and causing burnout!

Hope this helps one of my fellow teachers! 😁🍎#teachertips #teachersoflemon8 #teachers #worklifebalance

As I reflect on my first year, I realize that effective time management and collaboration with colleagues are keys to success. One of the greatest lessons I learned is to utilize prep time wisely. Instead of taking work home, I started planning my lessons weekly during the school week. This shift allowed me to enjoy my evenings and weekends without the stress of unfinished tasks. Equally important was the value of collaboration. Engaging with fellow teachers not only helped me understand the curriculum better but also built a supportive community within the school. Sharing resources and ideas with other educators can alleviate the feeling of isolation that many new teachers experience. Building a network of support fosters an environment where we can all thrive, enhancing our skills and teaching practices. If you’re a new teacher, make sure to embrace both of these strategies. They will not only make your teaching journey smoother but will also contribute to your overall well-being and job satisfaction.
