Dollar Tree Snail Mucin?!
Okay, so I ran out of my CosRx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence and decided this was the perfect time to try out the dollar tree dupe. It is a little more watery/runny with a little bit of a “slimey” feeling to it compared to the name brand. I’ll keep the girlies posted! 🤌🏽#lemon8challenge #lemon8badgehunt
After trying out the Dollar Tree Global BeautyCare Snail Mucin Essence, I wanted to share some additional thoughts based on my experience. Snail mucin has become a well-loved ingredient in skincare for its hydrating, brightening, and skin-replenishing properties, traditionally found in more premium products like the CosRx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence. This drugstore alternative offers a similar promise but with some noticeable differences. One thing I observed is that the Dollar Tree essence feels more watery and runny than the CosRx, which felt thicker and more viscous. Some might find the lighter texture easier to layer under other products, though others could miss the rich, gel-like consistency. The slightly slimy feel mentioned is typical for snail mucin products but was a bit more pronounced here. However, for those who prefer a lighter serum, this might not be an issue. In terms of hydration, the Global BeautyCare Snail Mucin Essence does deliver a refreshing boost, absorbing quickly without leaving a sticky residue. This makes it a practical option for combination or oily skin types looking for a budget-friendly hydrating boost. However, if your skin is particularly dry or sensitive, the more concentrated formulas like CosRx might give better results due to their richer texture and potentially higher snail mucin content. Given the price difference, the Dollar Tree version is an excellent starter product for anyone curious about snail mucin or skincare enthusiasts exploring affordable dupes. If you prioritize ingredients and texture, it might be worth patch testing to see how your skin reacts given the slight differences in formulation. Overall, while it’s not a perfect match for the beloved CosRx essence, the Dollar Tree snail mucin essence still holds its own as a hydrating and brightening product in the drugstore skincare aisle. I’ll continue using it and update with any longer-term effects or changes in my skin’s appearance! For those interested, always check the ingredient list and perform a patch test when trying new skincare products to ensure compatibility and avoid irritation.

I have been using the snail mucin serum from the DT since last fall and it works great on my skin. Hope you like it!
