CUTE SUMMER HAIR

... Read moreYou know that feeling when you see a gorgeous braided hairstyle but then you try it, and it just feels too tight or looks too stiff? I totally get it! I used to struggle with achieving that effortlessly chic look, especially with French braids. But after a lot of practice and a few game-changing tips, I've finally nailed the 'loose French braid'—and trust me, it's a summer game-changer! Achieving the Perfect Loose French Braid The secret to a beautiful, soft French braid isn't complicated. It's all about technique and a little bit of confidence. First, make sure your hair has some texture; day-old hair or hair prepped with a texturizing spray works wonders. Start your French braid as you normally would, taking three small sections from the top of your head. But here's the twist: as you cross each section over, don't pull it super tight against your scalp. Keep your hands a bit looser. When you add new sections of hair from the sides, try to incorporate slightly larger pieces than you might for a super neat braid, which helps create that fuller, 'undone' look. Once you've braided all the way down, secure it with a clear elastic. Now for the magic touch: gently pull apart the sections of the braid. Start from the top and work your way down, teasing out small loops of hair. This 'pancaking' technique adds incredible volume and makes the braid look wider and softer. I love how a loose French braid can be worn as is, or you can even twirl the end into a cute, relaxed braided bun at the nape of your neck, just like the one in some of my favorite inspo pics! It’s perfect for those breezy summer evenings. My Top 2 Braided Hairstyles You NEED to Try This Summer Beyond the classic, there are so many fun ways to incorporate braids into your summer look. If you're anything like me, you're always looking for easy yet stylish options to keep your hair off your neck in the heat. Here are two of my absolute favorites that are super easy to recreate and always get compliments! 1. Playful Double Bubble Braids (Half-Up, Half-Down Style!) I used to think bubble braids were just for kids, but they've made a chic comeback, and I'm obsessed! This style is a fun twist on a half-up, half-down look. Start by parting your hair down the middle and taking two sections from the front, just above your ears. Secure each section with a small elastic, creating two mini ponytails. Now, move a few inches down each ponytail and add another elastic, then gently pull the hair between the two elastics to create a 'bubble.' Repeat this process all the way down your hair. To make it extra special, I often leave out a few 'money pieces' around my face and curl them for a soft frame. The OCR mentioned a "bubble braid ponytail" and "double bubble braids" in a half-up, half-down style, and this is exactly what I mean! It’s so quick and looks incredibly stylish. 2. Cute Braided Space Buns with Mini Braids For those days when you want all your hair up and out of the way but still want to look super cute, space buns are the answer! And adding braids elevates them to another level. First, create a clean middle part. Then, on each side, take a small section of hair near your temples and create a mini braid, braiding it backward. Once you've braided a few inches, gather the rest of the hair on that side (including your mini braid) into a high ponytail. Twist each ponytail into a bun and secure it with another elastic and a few bobby pins. The "two braids leading down into two small space buns" described in the OCR is such a fantastic visual for this. These are perfect for beach days, concerts, or just chilling with friends. Plus, when you take them out, you get amazing waves! These braided styles are truly my go-to's for summer 2024. They're practical, stylish, and add that extra touch of fun to any outfit. Give them a try – I promise you'll love them as much as I do!
