*Artotel - I’d definitely recommend this hotel for its convenient location and affordable price! This is my second stay here, and I’d book it again if I return to Batam. The rooms are spacious and clean, though the only drawback is that there’s no kettle provided—you’ll need to request one if you want hot water. Getting around is easy too, with Grab rides averaging just $2–4 from the hotel. Price per night is around $51 to $63 and my latest 3d2n stay was $107 and i booked through Trip app.
*Rojeu De Mei - may contact them through their IG page and the price is SGD26 per pax, max 3 hours session. You can bring your partner along to create your own scent together!
If you're planning a 3-day trip to Batam, here are some extra tips to elevate your experience: One of my favorite things during this trip was visiting local markets early in the morning. You'll find unique Indonesian produce like petai (stink beans), keropok (fish crackers), and homemade sambal packs which make great souvenirs or snacks to enjoy later. For food lovers, beyond the places already mentioned, consider trying Arch Alley and Salad Bar, which are gaining popularity for fresh, healthy options in Batam. They provide a refreshing break from usual street food and are great for a light meal or quick bite. The perfume-making session at Rojeu De Mei is a must-try if you want a personalized souvenir. The aromatic experience is fun, especially if done as a couple, with each session lasting up to three hours and priced reasonably. When it comes to relaxing, don’t miss out on the many massage parlors near Artotel and the hotel lobby—perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. I highly recommend scheduling at least one long massage session to truly relax. For shopping, apart from grand malls, check out smaller local shops selling handmade kueh lapis (layered cake) that locals rave about. Place your orders early in the trip so you can pick them up fresh before departure. Finally, transport is very convenient with Grab rides averaging only a few dollars, allowing easy access to all attractions without hassle. Remember to pack light and bring comfortable shoes as walking in markets and malls is unavoidable. Enjoy your Batam trip filled with tasty meals, cultural experiences, and relaxing moments!
