First cave cafe in Batam that’s both cozy and aesthetic — perfect for a chill afternoon with delicious tarts and coffee. 🌿☕️
What we tried:
🧀 Melted Cheese Tart – Freshly made in-cave daily! Was a pity the double cheese got sold out when we were there but the original one tasted super melty and smooth. Would def return for this!
☕️ Maru Signature Coffee – smooth, aromatic and honestly better than i expected.
🍵 Ceremonial matcha latte – earthy and not overly sweet.
Do expect a queue when visiting — even though the café has two storeys, the indoor space is relatively small. Every corner is super Instagrammable, which makes it popular. They do offer outdoor seating, but if you prefer the comfort of indoors, be prepared to join the waiting list and wait a little while.
Overall, would I return?
For the coffee + cheese tart combo, 100% yes!

Maru Bakehouse is open daily from 11:30 am to 10:00 pm, making it a flexible choice whether you want a late afternoon coffee or a sweet evening treat. Plus, the Instagram-worthy cave decor makes it a fantastic spot not only for indulgence but also for snapping great photos. For convenience, the café is located within the Riko Superblock Sydney Hotel at Sungai Panas, Batam, making it easy to incorporate into a trip itinerary.
