🇻🇳 BÁNH MÌ HUỲNH HOA vs BÁNH MÌ MÁ HÒA

Finally tried the famous Bánh Mì Huỳnh Hoa in Saigon and… i hate to say this but i don’t get the hype AT ALL 😅

🥖 It’s definitely LOADED — super generous with meats, pâté and fillings. Like, really packed but it was gross and the taste was bad in my opinion.

Here’s my honest take:

• Way too heavy and jelak after a few bites

• The pâté + cold cuts combo felt quite greasy

• Flavors were quite overwhelming rather than balanced

• Not something I could finish on my own

💸 It’s also pricier than your usual banh mi, which made it feel even less worth it for me

Don’t get me wrong, i can see why people love it if you enjoy rich, indulgent flavours. But personally, I prefer a lighter, more balanced banh mi.

Tip: The portion is HUGE, better to share

On the other hand,

Bánh Mì Má Hòa??? Totally different story 🔥

Their hot plate banh mi was SO MUCH BETTER

• Served warm and sizzling = super fragrant

• Ingredients tasted fresher and more balanced

• Less greasy, easier to finish

• That hot plate style just hits different 🤤

✨ If you prefer something lighter (but still shiok), I’d 100% recommend Bánh Mì Má Hòa over Huỳnh Hoa

Would I go back?

[🥖] Famous HCMC banh minh but….
It’s just not our cup of tea. We were very excited to try this because there were a lot of good reviews about it. But to our disappointment, it wasn’t as amazing as it was promoted (at least to us🥲🥲) They sell only 1 kind of banh minh in the shop and it cost around $7 per bread. The banh minh co
