Things to note in Phuket ⚠️

Phuket travel tips you’ll actually need ✈️🌴

(from a solo girlie)

1. Grab vs Bolt 🚗

Honestly, Grab wins for me. You can stack discount vouchers for rides or even food and prices are already quite reasonable.

At Phuket airport, only Grab cars are allowed into the terminals (don't forget your grab airport voucher!) so if you book others like Bolt, be prepared to walk out about 10 mins out in the heat 🥵

Also had issues using YouTrip on Bolt, so it’s not the most reliable. Bonus: Grab lets you share your live location, which feels safer if you’re travelling alone.

2. 7-11 essentials 🛒

Thailand’s 7-11 is a lifesaver. Don’t miss:

Toasties (cheap & so good) - Great for your breakfast especially if you have to leave early. Remember to buy some back to sg a well!

Sunblock (you WILL need it) - Lots of disposable packs for you to try! Refer to pic for my recommendations.

Moisturizers - I really like the Srichand skin moisture burst! It's so moisturizing and non sticky! The clear nose moist pad is a must try too! Regretted

not getting more of it home.

Pimple patches - Holy shit, this is a MUST BUY! Their pimple patches are so effective and thin and most importantly, so damn cheap! Regretted not getting a dozen back as well 😩

Face masks - Super affordable and good as well! Great to get as gifts for friends and families too.

Honestly, if you run out of time to shop for souvenirs or didn’t make it to Big C… just head to 7-11 🛒

You’ll still be able to grab snacks, skincare, little gifts and even some local goodies — it’s basically your last-minute one-stop shop in Thailand ✨

3. Phuket airport departure 🛫

*Give yourself more time than you think you need.

The drive from Kata/Patong can be quite long and phuket airport gets super crowded and chaotic.

Aim to reach 2.5–3 hours earlier, especially during peak periods and expect queues everywhere!

Pack snacks, especially if you’re travelling with kids.

Also, something to note:

There’s an “express lane” at immigration which charges 200 baht per person. This allow you to skip the queue in immigration, so do carry some cash with you if you wish to skip the long line.

Overall, Phuket felt pretty safe as a solo female traveller 💛

Just stay aware and you’ll be fine.

Remember to save this for your next trip ✨
