Living outside of major metropolitan areas like LA, Miami, or Paris can sometimes feel like being overlooked, but there's a unique pride that comes with representing places like Kentucky. From personal experience, I’ve found that holding it down in a less-recognized location fosters a deep connection to community and culture that big cities can sometimes lack. Kentucky, for example, has its own rich history, vibrant traditions, and welcoming people. Whether it's the local cuisine like barbecue or bourbon, or events that celebrate the area's heritage, you'll find a sense of belonging and authenticity. It's refreshing to remind ourselves and others that excitement and opportunity aren't confined to the usual hotspots. Embracing your hometown or current city, no matter its size or fame, allows you to build genuine relationships and appreciate the unique qualities that make it special. In my view, the charm of smaller or less-glamorous places offers a grounded experience you won't always get in a big city. So if you’re ever feeling like the spotlight is only on the well-known cities, remember that someone's gotta hold it down elsewhere — and those places are just as worthy of attention, pride, and love.
