Views Inside ✨Lab✨ PT.1
I’m sure every lab for every school is different, but here is mine :))
We have a total of 6 ultrasound machines, 4 of the 6 are more modern and are touch screen while the remaining 2 are older Phillips machines. We have ergonomic ultrasound chairs for most stations, and adjustable movable patient beds.
We are required to disinfect every probe after use and change the exam table paper after every scan.
QUICK UPDATE :))
I haven’t posted in a while but I will get back to being more consistent!
I am now in my 5th month out of this 16 month program! Classes I’ve taken are Intro, cross sectional, abdomen 1, physics and I am now in practical aspects.
I have not taken my SPI yet because my program saves the hemodynamics chapter of physics to cover later when we are taking vascular. After vascular is when we will take our SPI.
Practical aspects the class that I am in now is basically a refresher and where we are learning full protocols to get us ready for clinicals which I will be going to next month!

In the world of diagnostic medical sonography, effective lab setups play a vital role in training and patient care. The combination of modern ultrasound machines, such as the Logiq E9, and ergonomic furniture, fosters a supportive learning environment. Proper disinfection protocols, including wiping down ultrasound probes and changing exam table papers after use, are essential for maintaining hygiene and compliance in medical settings. As students progress through their training programs, understanding the technical aspects of equipment is crucial. Classes covering ultrasound physics focus on essential concepts like hemodynamics, which will later correlate with practical applications in vascular imaging. With clinical experiences on the horizon, mastering scanning techniques and adhering to protocols will be pivotal as students prepare for their future careers in healthcare. Additionally, the mentorship and collaborative spirit within ultrasound tech communities encourage students to share experiences and best practices. By engaging in discussions about classroom learnings, students can enhance their skills and confidently approach their clinical rotations, equipped with foundational knowledge and procedural know-how.
