However, there are a few things to keep in mind to ensure both you and your pup have a safe and enjoyable time, especially when hiking in the Phoenix desert. The desert heat, even on milder days, can be intense. Always carry plenty of water for both yourself and your dog. I always bring a collapsible bowl for my husky to make sure she stays hydrated throughout our trek on the paved path and dirt trails.
