REAL Y2K INSPIRED outfits! 💋🍒💄
REAL y2k is trending, but i haven’t seen a lot of real y2k inspired outfit ideas, so i thought i would share my take on the trend!
i got my inspo for these outfits from old pictures of 2000s pop stars & celebs like Lindsay Lohan, Christina Aguilera, & Britney Spears! (there’s actually an old picture of Britney wearing a cropped graphic tee that looks JUST like the “dump him” tee if have! 🤭)
real y2k involved a lot of fun prints, chunky sandals, chunky heels, converse, LOW RISE jeans always, octagonal hats (also called beret/sailor hats), velour track suits (remember the ones that said “juicy”??), headbands, animal prints, halter tops, choker necklaces & the list goes on.
y2k also involved a lot of colorful hair clips & jewelry. i unfortunately didn’t have any so i didn’t include them!

I hate to be that guy, but this is more mcbling/trashy y2k I think, which is easily confused with y2k as they were in the same era! I believe y2k is meant to be more futuristic, stemming from the y2k crisis. So ppl in the 90s associated the year 2000s as the future bc tech was new. Not trying to be mean just saying! 😁
