comfy winter outfit that’s still trendy & stylish!
hi guys! it’s still pretty cold outside in most places, so i’ve been trying to come up with some good outfit ideas to wear on these chilly days. my goal has been stylish & cute but still practical and warm! ☃️
here’s one look i came up with that i really loved for the chilly season! ❄️
if you want to recreate this look, here is what you’ll need!
🖤 a basic black undershirt (a long sleeve but low cut tee would be perfect, or a fitted knit sweater if it’s really cold)
🖤 a black oversized leather jacket (these are surprisingly good at keeping me warm!)
🖤 cream colored wide leg lounge pants like boxer pants (just make sure you don’t do linen pants since those won’t be very warm. a knit or fleece material would be ideal!)
🖤 black fur lined ankle platform boots (like uggs or similar)
🖤 black knit arm warmers or fingerless gloves
🖤 a chunky black knit scarf
🖤 a knit black beanie
extra tips for staying extra warm:
- wear tights or leggings under the pants
- wear thick socks
- wear knit leg warmers

Okay, so we've talked about my absolute favorite oversized beanie outfit for those super chilly days, but let's dive even deeper into the magic of the oversized beanie itself! Honestly, it's become my winter MVP. It's not just about keeping your head warm – it's a total style statement that can elevate so many different looks. I’ve found that the key to mastering the oversized beanie look is treating it as an accessory that ties your whole outfit together. Beyond the comfy wide-leg pants and oversized leather jacket combo, I love experimenting with it. For a more casual vibe, imagine pairing your trusted black knit beanie with a chunky knit sweater (maybe in a contrasting color like a deep forest green or burgundy) and some classic straight-leg jeans. Finish it off with those black fur-lined boots mentioned earlier, and you’ve got an effortlessly cool weekend look that’s still incredibly warm. Another way I love to style my oversized beanie is by playing with textures. If I’m wearing a sleek, tailored wool coat, adding a soft, textured beanie instantly makes the outfit feel less formal and more approachable. Don't be afraid to mix and match! A cream wide-leg pant, for instance, can look amazing with a pastel-colored beanie if you want to brighten up a grey winter day. And speaking of keeping warm, those knit arm warmers aren't just for my go-to outfit; they're fantastic with any long-sleeved top and add an extra layer of coziness when paired with a beanie. I even sometimes throw on fuzzy earmuffs under my beanie for extra warmth on those brutally cold days – nobody sees them, but they make a huge difference! When choosing an oversized beanie, I always look for a quality knit – wool or a thick acrylic blend works wonders for warmth and holds its shape beautifully. The fit is also crucial; you want it slouchy but not so loose it falls off. For me, a classic black knit beanie is a must-have because it literally goes with everything, but don't shy away from experimenting with different colors or even subtle patterns to add a pop to your winter wardrobe. Think about your existing coat collection and if a pop of color from your beanie could really make it shine. And a quick personal tip for my fellow long-haired friends: I often wear my hair in loose waves or a low ponytail under my beanie. Sometimes, I even pull a few face-framing pieces out to give that effortlessly chic, slightly undone look. It just makes the whole oversized beanie outfit feel even more natural and lived-in. Don't forget those extra layers like thick socks under your boots or even leggings under your wide-leg pants when the temperatures really drop. Staying warm and looking great doesn't have to be complicated, and with an oversized beanie, you're halfway there to conquering winter fashion! It's all about finding that balance between comfort, warmth, and your own personal style.
