not sure the woven bag trend is for me 😕 thoughts?

i’ve been seeing these woven bags everywhere! i have always thought they’re cute but i just don’t know if they’re for me.

i decided to get some & try it out, but so far im finding it difficult to style them in a way that feels like me.

i do think it’s possible though so maybe i just need to keep trying?

what are your guys’ thoughts? is it cute for me? should i keep trying?

... Read moreIt's totally relatable to feel a bit lost when trying to incorporate a new trend, especially something as distinct as the woven bag! I’ve been there myself, staring at my closet wondering how to make that perfect Instagram look actually work for my everyday style. Seeing everyone rock those chic woven bags makes you want in, but then you get one, and it's like... now what? One thing I've learned is that it's not always about the bag itself, but how you integrate it into your existing wardrobe. For instance, you mentioned trying a burgundy woven shoulder bag. That's a beautiful, rich color! Instead of trying to force it into an outfit that might be too light or summery (like a cream cable-knit sweater and light wash jeans, which you noted didn't feel like you), maybe try pairing it with deeper, more autumnal tones. Think a classic dark green cardigan over a simple black top, or even an all-black ensemble to let the bag really pop. That rich burgundy can add a sophisticated touch to more muted outfits. Then there's the light blue woven crossbody bag. This one feels a bit more playful and perhaps summery, especially with those cherry charms you mentioned! For a crossbody, ease of wear is key. If you're finding it hard to style, consider it for more casual, relaxed outfits. Imagine it with a simple white tee, your favorite light wash jeans, and some comfy sneakers for a weekend brunch. Or, for a slightly dressier vibe, a flowy sundress. The light blue adds a fresh pop of color without being overwhelming. The strap length issue you brought up for the shoulder bag is also super common! Sometimes a bag is gorgeous but just doesn't sit right. Don't be afraid to experiment with how you carry it. Can it be worn as a top-handle bag if the shoulder strap is too short? Or, for some bags, you can even find detachable longer straps online that might give you more versatility. It’s all about finding what feels comfortable and natural for *you*. When I was trying to make woven bags work for me, I realized that the overall vibe matters. If you're usually more minimalist, a highly textured, brightly colored woven bag might feel out of place. Start with neutral tones like beige, black, or even a deep brown woven bag. These are often easier to blend with various outfits. Also, consider the weave itself – a tighter, more structured weave can look more polished, while a looser, more relaxed weave leans into a bohemian or beachy aesthetic. Ultimately, fashion is about feeling good in what you wear. If a trend doesn't spark joy or feel authentic to your style, it's okay to pass on it or adapt it until it *does*. Maybe you just need a few more tries, perhaps with different outfit combinations or even a different style of woven bag. Sometimes seeing how others style similar bags on platforms like Lemon8 or Pinterest can spark new ideas. Don't give up if you love the idea, but also don't force it! Your style, your rules. What do you think, should we keep exploring styling options together for those tricky pieces?
