is this normal for an eyebrow piercing?
so i pierced my brow 2 weeks ago n it was going good till i had this bum
on where the bottom of my brow piercing is but there’s puss n some light blood coming out of both holes, i’ve looked it up and i got that if it’s white or clear or a light yellow it’s normal, it’s red but i’ve been cleaning it with cold water and salt(i plan on changing it to warm since i seen it does better since im typing this at 3:20 am) anyways it doesn’t hurt unless i put pressure on it n every time i look up or widen my eyes i can feel the bump on top. this is my first time having a piercing so idk if it’s infected or if this is normal process for an eyebrow piercing. it doesn’t hurt in general or anything like i said it only hurts when i apply pressure to it, i also would accidentally hit it and kinda mess with it. so i dont know if it’s that or something
Having recently gotten my eyebrow pierced, I experienced a small bump near the piercing site, much like what you're describing. It was a bit concerning at first, especially with some light blood and pus showing up. From my experience and after some research, a bump around the piercing area during healing is quite common, especially within the first few weeks. This bump can be caused by irritation, slight infection, or the body's natural healing response. One key thing I learned is that the color and type of discharge matter. Clear or light yellow fluid is usually part of the normal healing process, but red discharge or persistent pus may indicate infection. It's important to gently clean the piercing with warm saline solution several times a day instead of harsh cleaners, which can irritate the skin. Avoid using cold water as it can sometimes stiffen the tissue and slow healing. Also, try not to touch or accidentally bump the piercing, as this can cause more irritation or introduce bacteria. I found switching from using cold saltwater rinses to a warm saline soak helped reduce the bump faster and made the piercing feel less tender. Pain when applying pressure is normal, but constant pain, spreading redness, or swelling might need a check-up with a professional piercer or healthcare provider. Since it’s your first piercing, be patient with the healing process – eyebrow piercings can take several weeks to fully heal. Monitoring the site for any changes and maintaining proper hygiene is crucial. If the bump gets bigger, more painful, or you notice an unpleasant smell, it’s best to consult a professional to prevent complications.
