Why I’ll never stop raising chickens 🐓
Chickens are so fun to be around.
They eat all your leftover food scraps so they are relatively cheap to keep after initial costs, and they provide you with food every day! We keep an average of 15-20 hens at any given time and I’m also known to love a rooster or two🐔
Id recommend them for anyone who wants a low maintenance animal that pays for its keep🐓🫶🏻

As someone who's embraced the joy of chicken keeping, I can confidently say it's one of the best decisions I've made for my home and lifestyle. Beyond the simple pleasure of having these clucking companions around, there are so many practical and delightful benefits that keep me dedicated to raising chickens. First off, the eggs! Oh, the eggs. Just like the image says, I truly have "endless eggs" and never have to worry about running to the store. It's not just about quantity; the quality and freshness are incomparable. And yes, as you might have seen, "They lay every color in the rainbow (even green)"! From rich browns to soft blues and stunning greens, each egg is a little treasure. It makes breakfast an absolute delight and I often have plenty to share with friends and family. Knowing exactly where your food comes from, especially something as staple as eggs, is incredibly empowering. Beyond breakfast, chickens are fantastic for pest control in the garden. They love to forage, scratching up bugs, slugs, and other garden pests, which helps keep my plants healthier without needing harsh chemicals. Plus, their droppings make excellent fertilizer, enriching the soil naturally. It's a win-win for eco-friendly gardening! When it comes to companionship, chickens are surprisingly personable. They're "pretty and peaceful to hang out with," as one of my photos shows. Each hen has her own unique personality, and watching them scratch, peck, and interact can be incredibly therapeutic. For families, raising chickens offers wonderful "chicken facts for kids" opportunities. Children learn about responsibility, animal care, and the life cycle firsthand, connecting them to where their food really comes from. It's a living lesson in biology and sustainability right in your backyard. While some might worry about the commitment, I find them to be quite low-maintenance. A consistent routine of fresh food, water, and a clean coop keeps them happy and healthy. Watching my chicks grow into productive hens is a continuous source of wonder, reminding me of the simple, satisfying rhythms of farm life. From the tiny, fluffy newborns to the stately layers, every stage is a joy. It's these everyday moments and the abundant rewards that ensure I'll never stop raising chickens.
