Wegovy Week 8
I believe I’m entering into week 8. Clearly I’m not tracking like I anticipated that I would. But after so many years of attempting to get healthier, I’m just rewarded by the daily accomplishments. No pressure!
My stomach has gone down just a tad. I see the most improvement in my lower back area. I also feel a bit lighter.
I don’t really crave anything. I’m an avid coffee drinker so as long as I get that I’m pretty much cool. 85% of the time I make my own coffee. I prefer it that way because I have control over ingredients and sugar amount.
I’m still nauseous from the Wegovy just not as much as before. I am on .5 and expected to increase in maybe 2-6 weeks depending on how my next doctor visit goes.

It's incredible to think I'm already deep into Week 8 of my Wegovy journey. Time flies when you're making progress, even if it feels slow on some days! This week has been another step forward, and I wanted to share more about what I’m experiencing and what’s helping me stay on track. One of the biggest ongoing challenges has definitely been the nausea. While it's certainly less intense than in the early weeks, it still pops up, especially if I eat too much or something rich. My go-to strategies now include sipping on ginger tea or flat ginger ale, and always having some bland snacks like crackers or plain toast nearby. I've found that eating smaller, more frequent meals throughout the day really helps prevent that overwhelming feeling. Hydration is also key – sometimes I confuse thirst with hunger or nausea, so I make sure to keep a water bottle handy. It’s all about learning your body’s new rhythm on this medication. Speaking of food, my love for coffee remains strong! I'm so glad I can still enjoy my morning ritual. Making it at home gives me total control over ingredients, especially reducing sugar, which has been a game-changer. Beyond coffee, I’ve noticed my cravings for sugary treats or unhealthy snacks have truly diminished. It’s a strange but welcome feeling. Instead of focusing on what I can't eat, I'm focusing on nourishing my body with leaner proteins and plenty of vegetables. Sometimes, the lack of cravings means I have to consciously remember to eat enough, which is a new challenge entirely! Planning simple, nutritious meals in advance has become crucial for me. The physical changes, even subtle ones, are incredibly motivating. As mentioned, I’ve really noticed a difference in my lower back area and my stomach feels a bit flatter. It's not just about the numbers on the scale; it's about how my clothes fit and how I feel when I move. I even noticed my brown pants and grey top feel more comfortable, especially around the waist. These small shifts, like seeing my lower back and gluteal area looking more toned, are powerful reminders that the medication is working and my efforts are paying off. It keeps me going on days when I feel a bit discouraged. My 'no pressure' approach is still my guiding principle. I've learned that obsessing over daily weigh-ins or strict tracking can be counterproductive. Instead, I celebrate those daily accomplishments – choosing water over soda, going for a walk, or simply making a healthy meal. This mindset helps me stay consistent without feeling overwhelmed. It’s a marathon, not a sprint, and every small victory counts towards the bigger picture. Looking ahead, my next doctor's visit is coming up, and I anticipate discussing a potential dose increase from my current .5mg. I'm making a list of any lingering side effects or questions I have so I can have an informed conversation. It's important to advocate for yourself and ensure your doctor understands your experience. If you're also nearing a dose increase, I recommend tracking any specific symptoms or changes you've observed, both good and bad, to share with your healthcare provider. This journey is personal, and having open communication with my doctor gives me peace of mind. Here's to continued progress!
