I used to fly off the handle before this book

I want to highlight a book that I’m currently reading for the third time!

Each time that I’ve read this book, I’ve learned something new. Or something stood out that didn’t stand out before.

Years ago, my temper was bad. Anything said or done could tick me off at the drop of a dime. I was just always a no-nonsense person. And even though I’m still very much “don’t play with me.” I know how to articulate and express that with kindness.

I used to take so many things personally. (Can’t lie, I still do sometimes, but I catch it within minutes.) I used to think everybody and their momma had me f**ked up and I was ready to go in about it.

This book has calmed me down so much! This book made me realize that a lot of situations and fallouts wasn’t on me. And that everyone is battling their own stuff. I now look at people that I may not necessarily favor, with an open heart and I try my best to see others without judgment. Who I’m meeting is someone that may or may not be dealing with trauma, someone that may not have been loved properly, someone that may not be self-aware, etc., someone who might not have the same communication skills that I have.

Basically, I’ve learned to give grace to others and grace to myself because sometimes I forget these tools! And when I do, I pick up this book. It helps me regulate my emotions. There’s prompts in this book that help me relieve pain, stress, and whatever I can’t fix.

I always recommend this book to people and sometimes I purchase it for friends as a gift.

Have you read this book? Or any of Don Miguel Ruiz Jr’s books? I own maybe 6 of his books and love every single one for different reasons.
