My honest review of Cécred

I just want to say you can love the Artist and not be a huge fan of the products. I also understand that sometimes we have to use a products more than once for our hair to get used to it, but for me it was just not enough hydration for MY hair.

However, I will continue to use the clarifying shampoo. After 2 washes of the hydration shampoo it did not feel like there was enough hydration. Maybe I should've ordered the Moisturizing sealing lotion to achieve the softness, but my order was like $170 w/express shipping that didn't happen, and even if i ordered that you still need to use a heat protector before styling. The oil blend is drying on my hair. Overall, I feel this line of products is just not fully for me. Did my hair shine?? Yes! But it was not soft and did not feel hydrated. It actually felt a bit dry. My hair was softer before my appointment.

These products responded better on my son's coiled curls than mine. I say all of that to say this..The only way to know is to try and im glad I did.

... Read moreAfter reading about different experiences with Cécred products, it really got me thinking about how unique everyone's hair journey is! It's so true that even if you adore an artist, their product line might not be a perfect match for your hair. I've been there, spending money on highly-rated items only to find they just don't deliver for my specific needs. One thing that often comes up with products like the Cécred Hydrating Shampoo and Moisturizing Deep Conditioner is the expectation of instant softness and moisture. But did you know that how your hair absorbs and retains moisture can vary wildly? Factors like hair porosity (how easily your hair absorbs moisture), density, and even environmental humidity play a huge role. For some, a product might feel amazing, creating that soft, hydrated feel. For others, like in the experience shared, it might feel a bit dry, even after a few washes. This isn't necessarily a flaw in the product but rather a mismatch with your hair's unique structure. If you're trying out the Cécred Hydrating Shampoo or Hydrating Conditioner and not getting the results you hoped for, don't despair! There are a few tricks I've picked up over time. First, consider how you're using it. Are you pre-pooing? Sometimes, applying a lightweight oil or conditioner before shampooing can protect your strands from over-cleansing and help retain moisture. Also, make sure you're emulsifying the shampoo well in your hands before applying, and focusing the shampoo on your scalp, letting the suds run down your strands rather than scrubbing your ends. When it comes to the Moisturizing Deep Conditioner, leaving it on for the recommended time, perhaps even with a little heat (like a warm towel), can significantly boost its effectiveness for deeper penetration. And if you're experiencing dryness, a good leave-in conditioner followed by a sealing oil can make a world of difference. It was interesting to hear about the Oil Blend feeling drying for some. While oils are often associated with moisture, some oils are better at sealing moisture in rather than providing it. If your hair is already dry, applying a sealing oil without sufficient moisture underneath can indeed make it feel drier. Experiment with applying oils to damp, well-conditioned hair. It's also worth noting the positive feedback on the Cécred Clarifying Shampoo. A good clarifying shampoo is a staple for many, as it effectively removes product buildup, hard water minerals, and environmental impurities, leaving your scalp and hair refreshed. This can actually help your hydrating products work better in subsequent washes, as buildup can prevent moisture from penetrating the hair shaft. So, if you're struggling with hydration, ensuring a clean slate with a clarifying wash might be your first step. Ultimately, finding your perfect haircare routine is a journey of trial and error. What works wonders for one person's coiled curls might not be ideal for another's. My best advice is to always listen to your hair, pay attention to its needs, and be open to adjusting your routine or product usage. It’s all about finding what makes your hair happy and healthy!
